    I'm from the UK, (although maybe that's nothing to do with it.)
    But although I've seen the posts regarding this movie..why is it so important..was it a successful childrens book or something?
    (I'm aware I can Google but I thought I'd enjoy feedback from the crew.)

    @Hotscot: We feel about "Where the Wild Things Are" how you'd feel about The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe.

    More so, because if you were born after 1965, chances are this was one of the first book you read. I was read it every day by my mom, and this book was one of my absolute favorites.

    So you have 3 generations looking forward to this film.

    @NerD: R.O.A.C.H.: "Where the Wild Things Are" is aimed at a much younger demographic than the Narnia series. (although you're probably right about the feelings for each)

    Is it me, or does Judith look just like that snake/lion/dog from the Never Ending Story, but with a horn on it's nose. Way to recycle old models!!!

    It's funny. Whenever something new comes out about this movie, I feel either excited or suspicious. Spike Jonze directing? Excited. Massive delays? Suspicious. Trailer? Excited, but also suspicious because of the Arcade Fire soundtrack. Dave Eggers writing? Excited. Dave Eggers writing furry "novelization?" Suspicious.

    These happen to fall into the "excited" camp.

    @Wookie1972: i bought arcade fire's cd after hearing the song in the trailer. there are several songs that sound alike, but overall it's a good cd. wait for a price drop ;)
