Caution: this post is completely off topic
I've been reading books on an Windows Mobile machine and it crapped out.
I went to Apple on line and bought a i Pod touch and installed Kindle reader and NOW when you guys mention a book available on Amazon I can download it and read it! O frabjous day, callou callay!
@Groovychk: I have my browser set, by default, to show hidden threads. And I'm sure, so do tons of other people. Also, we do star tons of commenters, which means your comments would stop being "hidden threads." In any case, your comments are being read, for sure.
@Charlie Jane Anders: okie doke. still... it wasn't the default for me so if I hadn't of made a comment and then come back and not seen it I wouldn't have thought to look for the option to show hidden comments.
@Evil Tortie's Mom: R.O.A.C.H.: No, you have to click on "show hidden." It's not really the greatest system to be honest - it goes against common sense. And I think it does discourage new people from commenting.
Spoilers: We're about to introduce a new comment system next week, which will include (bum bum bum!) FORUMS. I know, you can thank me later. So look out for that later next week.
JamesRyan raises a critical point: this has already been an excellent novel, a decently campy film and even adapted to comics by the great George Perez (albeit at an early phase in his career - but that just makes it even more interesting to my mind).
Does anyone really need another comics adaptation of this? Has the world become so sterile of ideas?
@redrosesnoses: could not agree more.it just goes on and on with the remakes/reboots and not even in film as you can see by these comics.maybe soon they will start remaking/rebooting BOOKS
When people say "the book is always better than the movie" I think about Logan's Run. In my opinion the film is much better than the book. The book is a fun action ride but the film just works better. I think it is in part because of the changes to the world the film made (I won't give any spoilers for anyone who hasn't seen the film or read the book).
I want to see this re-imagined as "Hipster's Run." once you reach a certain level of hip, the crystal starts flashing. Next thing you know you are at the carousel and 'sploded by lazer beams.
@Garrison Dean: R.O.A.C.H.: You could make a strong case, Garrison, that both covers have the poster as their source. Whomever MGM got to do the poster deserves at least a nice note from both Perez and the folks at Bluewater.
Maybe I'm too young and hip, but I never liked Logan's Run. Maybe you had to be around during the youth uprisings of the 60's or something, but I just found the underlying principles kinda dumb.
I hope they don't stay too faithful to the aesthetic, at least. Curved walls and incorporated plants, ew.
@ThisDudeRufus: I'm young and hip and I loved it. I think it helps that I hate the modern day youth. We're so banal and boring yet we think we're about something. Are Megan Fox and "Glee" really all we can come up with? *shakes head*
The aesthetic was groovy. Except for the apparent underwear ban. Hopefully that was just the film...
@The Curse of Millhaven: The the microbes living inside of you have 12 hours to find lime for the air scrubbers. If they stay away...your gate will close, you'll go off to do something else, and they'll be left behind in the toilet and never make it to the fridge. They need to find out about the fridge.
@ThisDudeRufus: Depends on how young and hip you are, I am almost 27 and had Logan's Run on DVD when I was just 19, and I was the youngest, hippest motherfucker around.
Point is you don't have to be around at the time it originally came out to really enjoy it.
@Palmerlime: You don't count since you're part of the cooler generation of youth. :P Generation X was the happening one. Gen Z is just lame pastiche. I've got a 20something classmate who is proud that he doesn't like films that came out before the late 80ies. Every time I see him I want to strap him to a chair and force him to watch my Tony Curtis collection.
@ThisDudeRufus: I'm old, but I was young in the 60's and it was movies like Logan's Run, 2001: A Space Odyssey and Silent Running that got my attention.

You are observant.
Left hand in the movie. Right hand in the books.
