    I've been reading books on an Windows Mobile machine and it crapped out.
    I went to Apple on line and bought a i Pod touch and installed Kindle reader and NOW when you guys mention a book available on Amazon I can download it and read it! O frabjous day, callou callay!

    @Groovychk: I have my browser set, by default, to show hidden threads. And I'm sure, so do tons of other people. Also, we do star tons of commenters, which means your comments would stop being "hidden threads." In any case, your comments are being read, for sure.

    @Evil Tortie's Mom: R.O.A.C.H.: No, you have to click on "show hidden." It's not really the greatest system to be honest - it goes against common sense. And I think it does discourage new people from commenting.

    JamesRyan raises a critical point: this has already been an excellent novel, a decently campy film and even adapted to comics by the great George Perez (albeit at an early phase in his career - but that just makes it even more interesting to my mind).

    Does anyone really need another comics adaptation of this? Has the world become so sterile of ideas?

    When people say "the book is always better than the movie" I think about Logan's Run. In my opinion the film is much better than the book. The book is a fun action ride but the film just works better. I think it is in part because of the changes to the world the film made (I won't give any spoilers for anyone who hasn't seen the film or read the book).

    Maybe I'm too young and hip, but I never liked Logan's Run. Maybe you had to be around during the youth uprisings of the 60's or something, but I just found the underlying principles kinda dumb.

    I hope they don't stay too faithful to the aesthetic, at least. Curved walls and incorporated plants, ew.

    @ThisDudeRufus: I'm young and hip and I loved it. I think it helps that I hate the modern day youth. We're so banal and boring yet we think we're about something. Are Megan Fox and "Glee" really all we can come up with? *shakes head*

    The aesthetic was groovy. Except for the apparent underwear ban. Hopefully that was just the film...

    @ThisDudeRufus: Depends on how young and hip you are, I am almost 27 and had Logan's Run on DVD when I was just 19, and I was the youngest, hippest motherfucker around.

    Point is you don't have to be around at the time it originally came out to really enjoy it.

    @Palmerlime: You don't count since you're part of the cooler generation of youth. :P Generation X was the happening one. Gen Z is just lame pastiche. I've got a 20something classmate who is proud that he doesn't like films that came out before the late 80ies. Every time I see him I want to strap him to a chair and force him to watch my Tony Curtis collection.

    Please stop making Superman movies. There are far more interesting franchises to work with right now. I'm tired of revamping a series, having it bomb and trying to start it again (Hulk, much?). While I think that Superman Returns wasn't as bad as people say it was, this franchise needs a break. It doesn't really connect with today's audience like it once did. Superman never went through a legitimate maturation that's needed with older superhero icons. I'm speaking, of course, about the film and television adaptions. I think that there was a lot of promise in a show like Smallville, but that show got so far off track, it's not even funny. They need to make Superman more relateable and sympathetic character. Right now he's still a douche with too many powers and no real issues.


    And before people jump on this, let me say that a mature Superman doesn't have to be dark. But it does need to be a character that the audience can understand and sympathize with.

    @Evlsushi: It needs a break? It got a helluva break between Superman 4(1987) and Superman Returns(2006). And the entire purpose of Returns was to make Supes a "more relateable and sympathetic character", hense the mopey scenes where he spies on Louis w/ his x-ray vision and when he gets incapacitated and goes into a coma instead of just bouncing back from chucking Kryptonite Island.

    Well he still wasn't a sympathetic character based on people's feelings about the film. They still hated it, generally speaking. And it needs a break because it doesn't really work with today's audiences and until they can work that kink out, it should be shelved.
