Coulthart is a genius. His depiction of R'lyeh is probably the most alienating, bizarre version I've ever seen--therefore, the most true to Lovecraft's vision of the place.
@burlybax: Considering how in The Mountains of Madness, the protagonist gleans all of his information of the ancient Arctic civilization from their art, I find this statement quite appropriate.
He has the minute detail of Dore, and the dark fantasmagoria of H.R. Giger. The latter of whom I thought was the only artist who could get close to the visions of Lovecraft. I stand corrected.
@LittleDragon: Oddly enough I didn't think they looked like tentacles...I thought they looked like dragon tails and couldn't figure out why the building had so many dragon asses sticking out the window. Bad case of (methane) gas or what?
