@92BuickLeSabre: All I know is that Kuttamuwa got what he paid for. Oh, sure, he was forgotten for a bit, but now his soul stone is famous! And so is he! His name has already been seen by at least 2,845 people -- and that's just on this site. His name is known to people in places he never could have imagined (well, maybe he could. If he was really good at it).
Pretty good for somebody I assume is not nobility.
Here we go with the sexy talk. I have this conversation with my Persian buddy at least once a month.
There is most definitely precedent for Indo-European influence on ancient Turkic peoples, but there is also precedent for Semitic, and specifically Jewish influence on them as well. The Jewish influence coming thousands of years later, obviously, but still true just the same. Keep in mind that these people and regions are about as far apart as Portland, San Francisco and Los Angeles.
@kolacek: I am always shocked to find people with Portland names using a San Franciscan dialect. Plus, those Portland types have some pretty freaky ideas about funerals that we San Franciscans definitely don't share. Still, I don't mind sharing a little ox feast with them once in a while.
@Annalee Newitz: Blasphemy!! The Oregonian outlanders must be destryeyed, Such is the will of K'kglrx$zmmht the Awkward! To you chariots. The rivers will run with their blood.
@Grey_Area: In case you were wondering to be "destryeyed" is like being "destroyed" only more visually gruesome. There were no typos, such is the will of K'kglrx$zmmht the Awkward! etc. etc.
@Grey_Area: Ahh! Californians! Must build a wall at the border to repell the invaders! Or I guess we can just let the rain depress them until they go home on their own. Danya - native Eugenian
The guy in the stone appears to be sitting down watching TV with what could be an ancient remote control device. It appears his ancient belief system mirrors mine very closely.
10,000 BC sounded very fishy (to the best of my knowledge writing evolved around 3000 BC). So I checked the original article - it says it's from the eighth century BC. that would make it 2900 years old at most.

Very interesting news but not a real shocker.

So whatever religion being described here is still predated by Zoasterism and Vedic Hinduism then.
