Will Zombie Transformers Arise To Avenge Their Deaths?

Michael Bay's second Transformers movie is officially named Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen. Which could refer to the return of dead Transformers, such as Jazz and Megatron. Here's hoping that Bay thinks "out of the box" and brings them back as undead zombie-bots. In other "robots in disguise" news, Bay tried to smack down the rumors that Transformers 2 would just a stepping stone to another movie (like Matrix: Reloaded). Bay told MTV the practice of making crappy in-between movies was "lame." And he promised it would be more than just be another sequel — which would certainly be the case if it involved zombie car-robots. [MTV and IESB]

Watch Giant Robots Punch In Higher Definition Than Ever Before

When Toshiba stopped making HD-DVDs a few months back, many industry insiders wondered just who had benefited from the high definition format wars. While many pointed fingers at Sony, whose Blu-ray friendly PS3 may have tipped the scales in favor of the violet-themed disc, we here at io9 are proud to announce that the true winner of HD-DVD versus Blu-ray was actually... A Survival Guide to Bad Scifi Movies

If you have ever willingly or unwillingly sought out science fiction in the movie theater, you know what dangers await. Sure, you may find yourself blown away by a 28 Days Later, but you might just as easily find yourself rolling your eyes through a Jumper or Transformers. But even if you do find yourself having to watch Hayden Christensen in front of a green screen, there is hope. Here to deliver the good news about surviving bad scifi movies is Sherilyn Connelly, who has for years been a ringleader of the weekly Bad Movie Night at San Francisco's Dark Room. She worked with her Bad Movie Night colleagues* to come up with a few ways you can turn a horrible movie experience into one the whole theater will enjoy. More »

Transformers 2 Script Finished, Probably Terrible The writers' strike may just have ended, but not all blockbuster movies really need writers, as director Michael Bay explains:
I've been writing Transformers 2... We've got our characters all designed. I always write all my scripts, my movies anyway so at least I've got something to give the writers. It's like a template. We have a really good outline so I worked on that. We had to because I want to make my date. I'm not going to let the strike take me down.
Michael Bay: Sure to win a "Writers Guild Supporter" award any day now, I'm sure. [Rotten Tomatoes.com]

Michael Bay Writes Like a Five Year Old Michael Bay promises loads of new robots in his Transformers 2 sequel, promising us they'll be "really unique." You mean more unique than a Xbox 360, a soda vending machine, and a steering wheel transmorgrifying into lame-o- boticons? Just so you don't forget, this movie franchise has already included "unique" robots that piss on people's heads. [ComicBookMovie]
