Unfortunately for the Middleverse, Natalie Morales has a starring role in the upcoming series Boldly Going Nowhere. The Middleman just wouldn't be the same without her. On a brigher note, Boldly is a sci-fi series by the hilarious creators of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
@SampattiAntilochus: I'm happy to hear she'll be working steadily. Now if her bohemian roomate can get a regular spot, I'd love to see her in anything.
I bought 3 copies. One to show people, one to lend people, and one for my own personal middle-vault. Each time, they come back with big joyful smiles and heads full of middle-quotes, saying how they wished they'd watched this show back when I told them about it.
Then they ask me when the next season starts.
The next part is hard on me, and almost too painful to watch.
@Briareosdx: I was really disappointed when they didn't have it at my local bestbuy. I still have a copy and I am preaching the middle-evangel to every middle-person who will middle-listen.
I didn't think the show was particularly brilliant, or that its cancellation was particularly tragic. It was kinda cute, mostly silly and very low-budget. That might have given it a certain quaint charm, but for me it never rose above mediocre.
@zslane: Why are you here in a thread where people are celebrating The Middleman then? I never understand this. I don't love all the sci-fi out there, but I don't stop around where other people are loving something that I don't just to tell them how that thing wasn't really worth their level of adoration.
@DangerousDac: Yes, for us Europeans. It's region free as there are no region restrictings on it, and the only issue I've heard of that can arise is that US PS3-owners are unable to watch European DVDs on their standard def TVs (European TV standard being 576p, US is 480p). With HD-TVs they don't have this problem. So yay PS3!
I thought the MM/Lacey relationship actually felt natural, as opposed to many other TV relationships - I'm glad they let it happen, but never forced it.
Look at it this way: think of how much we'd all still love Heroes, if it lasted only one season and never returned. As much as I love this show, I'm afraid if it came back the network would "alter" it in order to try and make it more successful and destroy all my fond memories.
@dirtybacon: Granted, I originally watched MM via bittorrent. But I feel like to true fans, this will be a must own on dvd. There are plenty of shows I've originally downloaded to watch and then bought on dvd later on to support the show. So I wouldn't discount the "buy and we'll bring it back" strategy just yet.
@Zuli5: yeah, I came late, so torrented the first few episodes. I usually don't go back and rewatch shows (though I have tons of old show DVDs), but I'll get this just to support the show, and Javier. I interviewed him for a website, and he was one of the nicest guys I ever talked to.
@dirtybacon: I did most of my torrenting because I missed the episode in the first place, and ABC family or whatever station had shitty streaming video services.
@Dunny0: This is certainly fact with us here across the pond. I'm totally buying the DVD; I want to do my part, no matter how insignificant it might be. Also, need that DVD on my shelf!
@jbq: I was hoping they's export it across the pond. I feel if given a proper showing, this show could have a real chance. I guess the beeb and others have no interest in an already cancelled show.
@Aidan_: I'll second that--everyone should watch this show. I cannot wait for the DVDs to come out, after which I will sit the boyf down and make him watch them . . . maybe all at one time.

But if it can work just one more time, for the love of god, make it work here.

And I wouldn't count Serenity as making it during the bittorrent era.
But, don't get me wrong, I want this show to return just as much as everyone else here. I miss Dubby.
