Four things Defying Gravity needs to do in order to move from merely watchable to actually good:

    1. James Parriott and the other writers need to learn how to show the relationships between the characters without the use of poorly timed flashbacks.

    2. James Parriott and the other writers need to stop relying on voiceovers. Anything said in the voiceovers should be worked into the dialog. The voiceovers are mostly annoying pseudophilosophical fluff or rehashes of information already mentioned in dialog.

    3. James Parriott needs to stop copying Carnivale. Beta is too much like Carnivale's Management.

    4. James Parriott needs to learn how to reach the show's run time without adding musical montages.

    5. James Parriott needs to replace his cliched, cardboard cutouts with actual characters.

Too bad Life After Death was so terrible. I highly recommend not watching it if you love Dead Like Me - it might ruin some great memories of the show you have.

I am gonna say something aloud: Alan Tudyk is the best thing in I, Robot. In second place, Gigi's sweet potato pie because that looks really good.

I think you mean Greg Evigan of 'B.J. and the Bear' fame. If you star for three seasons in a show about trucking across America with a chimpanzee, that will always be the first line of your obituary.

Defying Gravity is a great show. I am so afraid they will cancel it and we will never know what is in Pod 4.

This is the worst cast and written POS this season. And the acting on "General Hospital" is more nuanced.

Torchwood: Children of Earth is well worth seeing but if you can't get BBCAmerica in HD like on DirecTV you would probably be happier finding an alternate source of the episodes. BBCAmerica in low def is grueling at best and downright eye straining.

@rebrad: All praise to my satellite dish and DirecTV. I canceled my cable (Comcast) 10 years ago and have never regretted it.

Agree with you about the low-def BBCA; it was the fuzziest, grainiest channel I had, even compared to the other low-defs.

Also a big thank you to Time Warner Cable NYC for not giving us BBCA in HD. Really. You've made my decision to go to Fios (when its available) that much easier.

DO NOT MISS Being Human. Also, it is NOT a comedy. It's a poignant drama with a few places where there are amusing parts; think of Dead Like Me, but even fewer funny bits.

I am torn about being happy and sad about not having a tv.
Sad I don't have one: torchwood, serenity, better off ted, being human, Godzilla (its a fun movie if you disconnect it from the real Godzilla)
Happy I don't have one: Torchwood death, End of Primeval, True blood
