It's like she's stepped straight out of the bloody comics — serving up hard, cold death. We're just terrified of little Mindy and her skeevy pops.

The actress climbing the walls, smashing mobsters through glass tables and throwing knives, is Chloe Moretz. We just adore her, plus she's the most intimidating Kick-Ass hero, thus far. The 12-year-old's character name is Mindy Macready, but her street name is Hit-Girl. When she's not fighting crime she's taking bullets from her dear old Dad, Nic Cage. So far, so good — and it doesn't hurt that the clips have all been almost direct translations of the comics foul-mouthed dialogue, as you can see above.

Kick-Ass will be in theaters April 16th.

<![CDATA[Watch Nic Cage Dress Like Batman, Shoot A Child]]> There's a brand new Kick-Ass clip out and well... it really does kick ass. I think Nic Cage has finally found his calling as a creepy flesh-mustached father who pumps bullets into his daughter's chest. Plus see his superhero uniform!

<![CDATA[Nic Cage Is One Wigged-Out Wizard, In The First Sorcerer's Apprentice Trailer]]> Nic Cage channels his best Midlife-crisis Saruman, in the first ever trailer from Jerry Bruckheimer's The Sorcerer's Apprentice. Watch Cage spit Street Fighter Ryu balls, flip expensive cars and generally act insane.

The film comes out July 16th, 2010.

<![CDATA[Bird Arm Babies, Nic Cage's Mighty Sword And El Eternauta Footage]]> We've got a grab-bag of crazy for you this week. First up is a look at the test footage of the movie adaptation of graphic novel El Eternauta, complete with poison snow. Plus creepy flying kids and Nic Cage.

El Eternauta
Last year, we found out that 1950s graphic novel by Héctor Germán Oesterheld, El Eternauta was being turned into a film. The book begins with a poison snow blanketing Buenos Aires, killing most people beside our hero Juan Salvo, aka El Eternauta. Jaun dons a scuba suit and heads out to fight our alien invaders and save what's left of the human race. It's being directed by Lucrecia Martel and a little bit of footage is now out:

Meanwhile, Quiet Earth found this fanmade trailer, and like they say, it kind of beats the test footage. But let us remember this is merely TEST footage. I have high hopes for this poison snow alien picture. Even if it's merely to see a scuba suit hero.

Eep
Twitch brought our attention to this horrifying creation. Look, I may be jaded, but if I saw someone with bird arms flying around, my knee jerk reaction would be to shoot it down. It's HEADED RIGHT FOR US! This film is Dutch/Belgian and called iep or Eep! The premise is about a couple who has a baby with bird arms, and instead of smashing it with a rock, they let it grow. But when it gets older it tries to fly South, and calamity ensues.

SUCK
SUCK came out at TIFF, and damn it all if l don't love it. How can you not? It's got Iggy Pop telling you the two most important things in the world: "Always wear a condom and never trust a goddamn vampire." Plus, it's also got Moby dressed up like the biker from YMCA, Henry Rollins and Alice Cooper. I'm not sure how old this is, but here's a new music video from the video I stumbled upon. If you think it's as hilarious as I do check out the clip with Malcolm McDowell and Dave Foley.

Season of The Witch
I know, I know it's not really in our wheelhouse, but giant dragons couldn't stop me from posting an update about Nic Cage's sword fighting film. It's Nic Cage versus MAGIC and zombie monks and apparently leprosy. Coming out March 19th, 2010.

<![CDATA[More Awesome Pictures Of Nic Cage's Superman Test Outfits?]]> You've all seen the super shiny long-haired Nic Cage-as-Superman supposed test shot. Now we've, umm, uncovered some other "pictures" from Cage's lesser-known Superman projects. Plus, your chance to vote on whether the original image was Photoshopped or not!

Okay so clearly we just had some fun with Nic Cage and Superman toys, but why stop with the Tim Burton movie? What if he was Cyborg Superman, or Zombie Superman... and so on. And while we're at it, what about these guys for the big red-and-blue blur? Just throwing it out there: Jon Hamm as Superman seems like a good idea:

But in all seriousness we want to know what you think about the original image, which we ran the other day. Real, or bad Photoshop job?

<![CDATA[The Nic Cage/Tim Burton Superman That Never Was]]> A long time ago, Nicolas Cage started a fan war when he was selected to play Tim Burton's Superman in the final adventure of the Man Of Steel. Now test pictures have leaked of the actor in the blue suit.

The movie's screenplay was written by Kevin Smith and eventually rewritten by Wesley Strick. The whole thing was set to film in 1999. But after spending loads of cash, the studio eventually dropped the movie, which centered on Superman's demise. This was a good thing, because as much as I enjoy a bad Nic Cage movie, with the yelling on every other emphasis, I don't think I could handle him as America's greatest hero.

<![CDATA[Nic Cage Wants To "Reconceive" Ghost Rider, Which We Hope Means "Kill"]]> Are they are really going forward with Ghost Rider 2? In what poker game in hell did Nic Cage lose his soul, and why is he now trying to justify bringing us more of the flaming skull-head?

In an interview with MTV, Cage cautiously talks about his new ideas for an international Ghost Rider and it sounds like he wants to dive into the mythos of GR's relationship with the church. So less Western, more Angels and Demons, but with Nic Cage and his CG skull of fire. But let him explain it to you...

<![CDATA[If Nic Cage Was Screaming At You, Would You Listen?]]> I'd like to think that if Nic Cage was "wigging" out at me about the end of the world I'd listen. But honestly, I'd probably just demand my $10 back from Ghost Rider.

Alex Proyas' new movie Knowing follows Nic Cage's journey, unscrambling a numeric code that predicts every single tragedy in the world. Now It's up to Nic to foresee the next disaster, and save as many people as he can. But will they listen, or lock him away as a crazy-pants? Knowing hits theaters March 20.

<![CDATA[Kick Ass Photos Emerge With Old Man Nic Cage]]> Take a long look at the lives of bloody justice-dealing teen superheroes from Kick-Ass. Adapted from Mark Millar's comic, Kick Ass is starting to look like it might live up to its title.

The story follows NYC high school student Dave Lizewski, who takes his love of comic books to a new level by following in his heroes' footsteps and fighting real crime on the city streets. It's a modern day superhero story complete with hero for hire, MySpace accounts, and lots of blood. Nic Cage plays the father to Hit Girl, his own daughter who he has trained to beat the piss out of drug lords (played by Chloë Moretz.)

<![CDATA[Alex Proyas Scares Nic Cage With Albinos And Numbers]]> Scary numbers warn Nic Cage that he must stop the world's worst disaster, or be feasted upon by a flock of disappearing white people — or something — in this new Knowing trailer.

In this Alex Proyas-directed movie, Cage plays a super-smart numbers guy, whose son unearths a student time capsule from 50 years ago. Inside, Cage's son finds a letter that's just a list of numbers, Cage realize it's actually a code to every bad thing that's ever happened, or will happen. And oh noes, the biggest crisis ever is headed our way. It's like National Treasure, except it's National Disaster instead.

Also, the new Knowing trailer reveals these scary albinos who know how to point creepily like the best of them. Oh, I do not have high hopes for this film — even with Proyas attached to it.

Knowing will be released in March of 2009.

<![CDATA[Kick-Ass Too Violent For Nic Cage?]]> Is the movie version of Mark Millar's Kick-Ass in trouble already? Its biggest star, Nicolas Cage, has been talking about his reaction to seeing the comic for the first time - after agreeing to do the movie - and it's not necessarily a good one. What kind of teenage ultraviolent action movie are we going to be seeing in theaters next summer? It may depend on whether Cage or Millar can convince director Matthew Vaughan of their respective visions.

Cage told MTV's Splash Page blog:

When I said ‘yes’ to this movie, it was to a script. Then I started seeing the comics which are pretty far out in terms of violence. But I think Matthew [Vaughan] and the script have a different style to it... [T]here will be some moments of action that will be violent, but there will be a sense of elegance to it. [He] doesn’t want to get gratuitous with it. At least that’s what Matthew has told me.

Far out in terms of violence? You mean like this?:

Yeah, you can definitely see where Cage might be concerned about the violence. But what's this about Vaughan toning down the violence and bringing a "sense of elegance"? That's not what producer Millar told us last week, back when he said that Kick-Ass would be "more outrageous" than "the most violent film this year." So, who's right? Will the movie end up toning down its violence in order to please its star, or will Cage swallow his pride to follow the producers' artistic vision? Will Cage end up walking away from the movie? The potential behind-the-scenes drama is, if nothing else, likely to drum up more interest in the movie before its release next year.

<![CDATA[Nicholas Cage Faces Apocalypse By Numbers]]> A time capsule turns out to have eerily accurate predictions of future catastophes, in Knowing, which opens next March. It's up to grade school teacher Ted Myles (Nicolas Cage) to convince the nation of our next huge tragedy. Judging from this teaser trailer, the scariest thing in Knowing is a bunch of circling numbers. Let's hope director Alex Proyas (I Robot) can fill it with more apocalyptic moments.
