American style Pan's Labyrinth in look and feel? What the hell is he talking about? That movie didn't feel unamerican. The only way to Americanize it would to put some Diseny style dancing chipmunks in. #twilight
@WestMantooth: the movie was in spanish... with subtitles... for american audiences releasing to a theater with subtitles is about as unamerican as things get. the ambiguous ending was fairly atypical of american fantasy, even adult geared urban fantasy. #twilight
@tetracycloide: The look and feel is what he described as American. Pan's felt like a Del Toro picture, imo. Subtitles(etc) would fall under look and feel for me.
I agree about the American Fantasy ending though, but that's not something unheard of to us either. #twilight
@WestMantooth: del toro is a spanish director/producer/writter that, in addition to his successes in english speaking films, predominantly works in the spanish film industry. if you can name one other director who is actually american with a similar look and feel then by all means, make your point, but 'felt like a del toro picture' and 'felt like an unamerican picture' appear to mean the same thing to me. #twilight
That wasn't my point. Some American directors have European influences and vise-versa. Del Toro's work doesn't feel "unamerican." His style has moved above to something else. The stories and creature design he chooses to tell are pure Del Toro. You know a Del Toro pic when you see it. Just like M.Night. #twilight
I think it's great he's finally getting the top billing in a film he deserves. I just hope it actually has a decent script aside from this poorly-constructed comparison. #twilight
@J_Frank_Parnell: And if they are referencing Pan's Labyrinth, it would seem they are trying to attract the people who like it... who are the exact same people who will be horrified by the though of an Americanized Pan's. Is it just me, or does this seem counterpoductive? #twilight
@J_Frank_Parnell: well, since it's a producer saying it i imagine he paid someone else to watch it for him and read the cliff's notes version. #twilight

In fact, how easy would it be for him to have sex at all?
Her: "Mmm, yeah. Do that honey."
Him: Don'tthinkaboutthedemon Don'tthinkaboutthedemon DoNotThinkAboutTheDemon
"I'm sorry. This has never happened before. Can we just snuggle?"
