    They movie was better than you gave it credit for. And I think Glee sucks . never saw middleman.

    But Pandorum was nice little epic . I`m happy to say.

    I quite liked the film. But then again, I wasn't expecting a hard sci-fi film: I was expecting Gothic Horror in Space, a la Event Horizon. Sure, the Evil Mutants could've been a LOT cooler, but the film made good use of darkness and tension, and was beautifully filthy and decayed.

    I dont understand why These movie reviews always have spoilers in them?

    If it's a good film then i've already ruined it for myself by reading the review to find out it's worth seeing!

    and if i've already seen it... why would i read a review? to see if the internets agrees with me?

    I understand it's an opening shot for discussion about a film, but surely they'res a compromise? especially for us non-US readers, for whom these films probably wont be out for another month or so. (I'm still waiting for UP)

    Maybe have a spoiler free review followed by a discussion?

    @Stueymon: There's no spoilers in that review... dudes wake up on a spaceship and there's mutants and a couple other crewmen, and everyone's Dumb About It. that's just the basic premise. The trailers give away more.

    Aside from some hammy lines that permeated the movie (really, I blame the writers, not the actors), I didn't actually think it was awful. It entertained me, even if it wasn't ground-breaking at all.

    The real question becomes: is Surrogates any better? Because from what I have seen of Surrogates I can't imagine that it is.

    Annalee, you need to see more shit movies and review them with your comedy stylings the way Vern and Neil do over at Aintitcool. Tewtally classic. Great review. PS, you totally watch 'Glee,' don't you. Yeah, so do I.

    Turnoffs: "Dumb movies, franchises that you've shipped with and now have to let go cos they're cancelled (yes, you T:TSCC)"

    Turn ons: "Brainy women who can askew making long political analysis in movie reviews just so they can tell me that a movie sucks."

    I thought it was a cross between Event Horizon and The Descent. The production value seemed adequate. I liked some of the ship interiors alot. I wonder where if some of those scenes were shot on site and not in studio? Though I really like E.H. I'd say I liked Pandorum almost as much as E.H.. I don't think it sucked. It just borrowed alot from the aforementioned and of course, the Alien franchise. The front of the space ship Elysium was very Ron Cobb"-esque." I'd love to know if the ship was a miniature or all digital. The bridge observation deck exterior was definitely digitized. "Miniature" was my first impression. I thought the chick was hot too, very Euro!! She was different in a good way.

    I went to go see this but the theater had a sneak preview showing of Whip It, the roller derby movie with Drew Barrymore at the helm. Glad I spent my $10 on Whip It. Not only did I get a free t-shirt but it was a kick ass movie besides. Here's hoping for some sci fi luv in the theater soon, one can only see District 9 so many times.

    @schrodingers-katana: Not to mention the fact that (statistically speaking) the odds are in favor of a "vaguely Eurasian" crew (heavy on the Asian). By the time that kind of technology exists I'm pretty sure globalization will have blended away most of our racial divisions.
