In lieu of spaceships and stormtroopers, we get a horse-riding space cowboy and cat-like Darth Vader. [via Neatorama]

<![CDATA[Posters Reflect on Five Seasons of Lost]]> With Lost is coming up on its final season, artists have reflected on five years of bizarre characters, time travel, mystical occurrences, and a polar bear to create sixteen posters teasing out the key themes and moments from the series.

We mentioned a while back that ABC had commissioned a series of posters from various artists in honor of Lost's final season. Last night, the final poster was revealed at Gallery 1988's Lost show: an illustration of a large portion of the Lost cast by Tyler Stout (whose detailed movie posters we've featured before).

Unfortunately, each of the limited edition posters has sold out except Stouts, which as of this posting has not yet gone on sale. Also, each poster is featured under its own web domain, each an in-joke related to the poster's theme. Stout's final poster sits at the domain NothingIsForever.com.

<![CDATA[Daybreakers Explains How You Doomed Us All To A Viral Vampire Future]]> Learn how we'll all evolve into vampires in the future, in this new Daybreakers breakdown video. Plus, tips on how to capture wild humans. vampire death-scene wallpapers, and new posters.

At the Daybreakers sponsored site Capture Humans, there's a Facebook video that, once hooked up to your page, will explain the viral "gift" that is vampirism — by establishing you and all your Facebook friends as the original vampires. It's actually pretty fascinating and helps build the vampire world that exists in Daybreakers. See if you can catch the picture I used for "patient zero." It also gives a bit of background to the Bromley and Marks "blood bank," where future vampires will keep their currency. The "population control" is pretty intense as well.

If you're not keen on putting in your FB stats, you can just watch the video we provided above.

Also on the Capture Humans site are a few tips from the site on what to do if you encounter one of the few humans left on the planet:

Plus from their home page here are a few lovely wallpapers that show vampire rides, and what happens when a vamp is thrown out from the front of their car. Fire!

And here are awesome new posters:

<![CDATA[New Crazies Stills Try To One-Up Romero's Original]]> There's a bit of buzz around the new Crazies remake. Starring Timothy Olyphant, the film appears to have the same plot as the original, but with better make up and FX. But do these new stills really outshine the original?

The original came out in 1973, to mixed reviews. The new feature looks like an extra hyped-up stylized version of the original. While many people protest that Romero's other work is far superior, we've always been partial to this classic. Still, this new remake looks like it's delivering plenty of "crazy."

The official synopsis:

About the inhabitants of a small Iowa town suddenly plagued by insanity and then death after a mysterious toxin contaminates their water supply.

The film will be out Feb. 26th, 2010.

<![CDATA[In New Iron Man Poster, Whiplash's Weapons Look More Dangerous For Him Than Us]]> The latest poster for Iron Man 2 reveals Whiplash's mighty electric whips. These things look more dangerous for him than his enemies, which earns Whiplash a spot on our "bearer of terrible weapons" list, next to Dr. No and Gogo.

Whiplash is in good company. Here are a few more counter-intuitive weapons from pop culture history.

<![CDATA[Your First Look Inside Tron Legacy Reveals A Sexy Upgrade]]> Check out the first ever image to come out of Tron Legacy — it's full of passionate unitard stare downs, punk wigs and disc weapons. Plus Flynn Jr. takes the wheel, in the new light-cycle poster.

Wow, Disney is riding that cyberpunk idea fast and hard. Just look at Olivia Wilde on the left. Interesting how the new light-up suits look so much less like something I could make in my basement and more like actual battle suits. Are those built in muscles and SKIN we see? This helmet-free new life of a program has undergone one sexy upgrade.

<![CDATA[Will This Clip Change The Way You Feel About Avatar?]]> Check out this inspirational new clip from Avatar. This is the first time we're seeing the realism seep in through the CG world, especially when Jake's Avatar is plunged into the wild rivers in Pandora. But what do you think?

IGN's new clip shows a vicious chase scene from Avatar as Jake flees from a Thanator, the alien world's alien predator. It could recharge your enthusiasm for James Cameron's alien epic, a little bit — with its murky waters and muffled sound, it feels spectacularly real. What do you think? Vote below.

<![CDATA[The Man Who Put 70s Rock In Space Also Did Star Trek Posters [NSFW]]]> Shusei Nagaoka is responsible for some of the most iconic rock album covers in history, crafting monumental spaceships for ELO and Deep Purple. But the Japanese artist also created incredible posters for Star Trek and other movies (one is NSFW.)

Pink Tentacle has an incredible gallery of album covers, movie posters and car art by Nagaoka, whose work we've admired for ages without knowing it was his. (If you're into late 1970s-early 1980s funk/R&B, several of these covers will strike a chord as well.)

Here are some of our favorites — the last image is the NSFW one. Check out the rest over at the link. [Pink Tentacle]

<![CDATA[Gremlins Boy Is All Grown Up And Seeking Revenge on Furry Monsters]]> Remember Zach Galligan, the sweet-faced youth from Gremlins? Well, he's older now and has developed a hatred for the furry creatures of the world in Nightbeasts. Here's the tagline: "They come out at night." You don't say.

It wouldn't be horror week without campy/terrible horror movies to get excited over — and nothing looks more crap-camp- tastic than Nightbeasts, the story about a man, and a pack of Bigfeet — because they travel in packs, bitches! Check out the trailer.

<![CDATA[Forget Blade Trinity, Daybreakers' Vampire Blood Farm is Creeptastic]]> The new poster for futuristic vampire film Daybreakers gives us a closer look at the creepy, Matrix-like blood farm, where the remnants of humanity provide fresh blood for the vampires who run the world.

Earlier this summer, we showed you the fantastic trailer for Daybreakers, set in a future where most humans have become vampires. With the world's blood supply dwindling, most living humans have been corralled into massive blood farms, while the few who have managed to evade capture try to find a cure for vampirism, aided by Willem Dafoe and an undead Ethan Hawke.

Daybreakers is set to come out January 8, 2010. In the meantime, you can check out the eerie poster and a few stills from the movie:

<![CDATA[Toy Story 3 Gets A New Flight Of The Choncords Play Thing]]> Toy Story 3 director Lee Unkrich announced that there will be two new voice actors joining the rest of Andy's toys. And check out the originals in new character posters for the third installment.

First up, the new character in Toy Story 3 will be voiced by Flight of the Conchords' Kristen Schaal, who already has a lovely toy-like sound, and is also hilarious. Also joining the cast is Blake Clark, who will be taking on the role of Slinky after the sad passing of Jim Varney. Also the director announced that the theater run of Toy Story1 & 2 back to back double feature in 3-D will be extended.

You'll have to wait until June 18, 2010 for the third film but until then, enjoy these new character posters...

<![CDATA[Bad Robot The Movie: "Don't Worry, Your Kids Are Perfectly Safe"]]> Ruairi Robinson's dancing robot concept video is enchanting, and deadly. His film Bad Robot promises, "Soon every house will have a robot helper. Don't worry, your kids are perfectly safe." But the red smiley robot eyes say murder!

Ruairi Robinson is best known as the director tapped to make the Akira film. With that movie still up in the air, rest assured that he's not sitting on his laurels. The comedic film Bad Robot has completely won me over with its Shirley Temple dance.

The company that is behind Robinson's previous short Silent City is working on Bad Robot, so we're not sure if this will be a short or a feature length film. And, no there's no relation to JJ Abrams' production company. Although I'm sure with all this new internet hype, they will start to have a relationship very soon. Until then, check out Robinson's previous post apocalyptic short Silent City, with Cillian Murphy.
