@thexpert: What we have here is a disconnect between you and me (and, perhaps, people like me). I do not agree that it now "looks like it should." I had hoped that it would not feel the need to feature a set-piece action sequence. I still have high hopes for the movie, but that's where the twinge of disappointment came from. I have no problem with action scenes and quick cuts, I just thought that this would be different.

And indeed, it might be. I'm just hyper-sensitive to potential disappointment these days.

@Trystero: the editing of this trailor leaves me optimistic that there isn't a set-price action sequence comprable to typical summer movie fair. it seems clear from the number of splices that they're trying to cut together scense to play up the action factor.

what has me worried in the line about 40secs from the end 'find the freak.' both the line and its delivery have raised concerns that portions of the film will be pre-packaged cliches which is the last thing i was hoping for this flick.

Oh, well that just turns my interest level way down; I loved the original film's documentary feel. Looks like this is going to be just one more splodey summer flick.

Oh, Blomkamp, how could you let Hollywood turn you into this? You had such promise.

OK, so the they're being kept on Earth until the government types get some technology & other information from them... We learn that our government is worse than the bug people and the whole deal blows up in our face.

I'll watch this for sure, but still stand by my "No bug people on my planet, fuck that" stance

@♪: most marketing campaigns are not targeted at blog viewers that will recieve updates on every little piece of information that comes out. they go for volumn to make sure as many people as possible see something.

Anyone knows what the budget is this? Because of the plot, I guess shaky-cam does make some degree of sense (and the short was in shakey-cam too), but I assume it also helped cut down on cost (detail on the CGI doesn't need to be so great). Really interested to hear the final cost of the film...advertising has been high too.

i wouldn't be surprised if aliens kill us all.. because the U.S government if they find aliens will try to torcher it and disect it and kill it.. and will be seen as an act of war to the aliens.. who came for peace
