I didn't expect Fringe to have a shapeshifter so soon, but part of this is having watched Heroes' Sylar with that power. The neat twist was how that soldier crumpled/squashed his face before inserting the three-pronged thing.
~*~ SPOILERS ~*~
I was sad to hear of Kirk Acevedo's firing on Facebook — but as ambiguity exists whether over this, I hope Kirk playing a compelling character will continue on in someway. (Do the shapeshifters transfer memories? I wonder.) In a show like this, the door's open, as we've already seen alt-Charlie. Like Roklimber, I found what was coming obvious after Charlie did his own variation on the "I'm a cop and I've got two weeks until retirement" tale.
I'm not fond of the new female agent so far, she wasn't really memorable and she doesn't have a character counterbalance yet (as the wordplay between Walter and Astro... Astrid so often delights) but I'll need more episodes to decide.
The typewriter analogue of an Internet chat room was pretty cool. Had a steampunk vibe without being overly ornate.
And to kick of the second season of Fringe, here's me, showing you how to play the Fringe Theme on piano!
Question - will The Observer be back this season? I thought I heard that Michael Cerveris won't be returning since he's based in NYC, and the show now shoots in Canada.
Somewhere along the first season, somehow, Walter and his team sneaked into my subconscious and did something to me that made me start liking this show.
I was almost giggling in anticipation of the crazy things that would happen in the season premiere, but the car scene (you'll know what I'm referring to when you see it) just blew my mind.
- SPOILERS below -
I was sure that Olivia would really die but that then it wasn't "our" Olivia, but the Olivia from the alternate universe, who would have traveled here and be caught in that accident. Sadly, I was wrong.
I saw what happened to Charlie long before it happened. It was way too obvious.
The new agent is HOT.
Peter's line to the doctor - "Doctor, back off!" - was awesome.
I'm tempted to watch because Cedric Daniels is here. (What's his real name?) But he'd better speak. In. The. Same. Exact. Way. With EX-CE-LLENT E-NUN-CIATION.
There is also the fact that Olivia's powers are likely destructive as well since at the end of Bad Dreams Walter watches a video where young Olivia is sitting in a blackened room with a huge hole in the wall and everyone is freaking out. Good grief I love this show!!
@fraying: I also thought it was Walter, especially after the scenes when he matched what I thought was his typewriter to an anomaly in the typescript. But I see how the machine might have been Bell's or how Walter might just have helped.
@fraying: At first it seems like Walter wrote it, when he matches the type (y) to the typewriter in his lab. In a later episode he shows everyone else, explaining that it's "bellie's" typewriter. And that Bell had written it.
Though he was less than honest about the drug trials, so it may still turn out otherwise.
