Loved mountains of madness. And with global warming and ice shelves falling off of Antartica, you could make it modern and plausable. Off falls an ice shelf, oh look theres an ancient city!

Hollywood would botch it unless the right director did it as a pet project though.

That stuff looks really cool except that the patch looks too modern. But then, I haven't seen any authentic expedition patches from that era to compare it to.

We really need Hollywood to use their brains and make us a great lovecraft set in the 1920's - 30's.

@gorehound: Copy that. The period setting, to me, helped make "The Call of Cthulhu" by the H. P. Lovecraft Historical Society much more enjoyable.

@gorehound: Well, Guillermo del Toro has for a long time wanted to make At the Mountains of Madness movie in big budget, but the execs have been uncertain due to the lack of romance and happy ending, but after he's finished with the Hobbit, I'd wager he gets to do whatever he wants, so I think your wish may come true in a few years time...

Only comment, and it's more of a nit-pick really, all of the text in those field journals would be serif fonts, no san-serif.

honestly, for me, this loses a little something when i know that the guy who made it is a professional costume maker.

Generally the people who do the costumes of various sorts are just people who are REALLY into said video game, anime, etc. They then start from scratch and depending on variables such as tools, materials, time, and overall commitment to the project. They then give it a shot and, based on these variables, the costume comes out to some degree of quality. This guy though could not particularly give a rats and still do an absolute top notch job.

The suit is absolutely beautiful (i cant believe the drill actually spins!)and i truly admire him for his talent, but this is almost like comparing food prepared by someone like me who cook every once in a while, to a gourmet meal prepared by a 5 star world renowned chef.

@jrghoull: i don't see that it detracts from it at all. there are plenty, likely tens of thousnads or more, who do the same professional work he does without spending their free time on costumes for video games. it's obvious he gives a rats ass because if he didn't there's no way he'd spend all the money on materials and all the time to assemble them on such a project.

unless he's just using his professional skills to get laid but for that little sister who could really blame him if that's the case?
