Everyone just went thru the motions. Bond just went from place to place killing people. Felix just sat that grimacing the whole time.
"Fields" (because the movie was what, too embarassed to use her name?) is there for no reason, sleeps with him for no reason (he hardly charms her despite what M says later) and she dies for no reason.
Even the Greene is just trying to get paid, having no real interest in what's going on.

Such-and-such parts of the movie were too complex!
So-and-so parts of the movie were too simple!
Wah wah wah!
As soon as I read the (apparently) serious comparison between Greene and Al Gore (which is absurd to the point of being intellectually offensive), I knew I would be hard pressed to find anything in this review that I agreed with, but I didn't totally give up on it. I read it all, and confirmed my above suspicion.
CJA, you say that various parts of the film are "way too abstract an idea for an action movie." If you walk into the theater assuming you're going to see a mindless action movie (like the piece of crap starring Vin Diesel you described as the way the real James Bond movie would go), you're definitely going to be disappointed.
James Bond turns out to be a human being and the villain turns out to be in it for money by blackmailing a government into contracting with his corporation instead of threatening the world with the stolen nuclear warheads.
Go jerk off to Austin Powers and Our Man Flint. Don't watch the next James Bond movie when it comes out. And definitely don't write some simple-minded rhetorical travesty about it.
Please.

No. No it didn't.

Also, the characters interact very well with one another. The relationship between M and Bond is so well done. I also see people complaining that Bond didn't have enough wit in this movie. Maybe I just have a different sense of humor, but I laughed quite a few times at his wise cracks, without them being cheesy one-liners.

The bourne supremacy style editing did kind of bug me, but not as much as everyone f'ing mumbling their way through the movie. i couldn't understand half the shit mathis said.
however, i much enjoyed.

we all know exactly how an old bond film would have done it and that's exactly why brosnan bond films after goldeneye were so boring in spite of themselves bending over backwards to pump up the scale of the plot and the pace of the action. bond no longer needs a larger than life main villain because bond is no longer the cheeky cartoon super-spy he once was. the old bond has long since become stale and predictable, bond is real now.

Terrible opening music/visuals.
Utter mess.
Pitty as I'm sure some very cool things could have been done with a sand theme.

I do get the sense from the opening paragraph that you didn't like it and felt it was confusing and sloppy.
Based on every other review I've read, you're the only one that thinks this. Which leads me to believe you probably did like it but decided a review going against the grain was the best way to make yours stand out.
