But now Murphy is reportedly replacing BSG's Jane Espenson as Caprica's showrunner. Update: Espenson explains the switch.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Murphy has taken over as showrunner, but Espenson is staying on as an executive producer, alongside Ronald D. Moore and David Eick. THR notes that Murphy was originally hired back in October as a co-executive producer, to work on scripts in the second half of the show's first season. But now he's the head honcho. (Variety's story is a bit vaguer on the matter, for what it's worth.)

Update: Espenson tells io9:

I'm still at Caprica. Running the room was very intensive and took a lot of time away from actually writing this amazing ambitious show. I missed the writing more than I expected and this was my decision to concentrate on that as we put together the big end of season one. Kevin is extremely smart and talented and brings fresh eyes and fresh energy to the project — we're so lucky to have him!

So let's hope that's all there is to it. Syfy has continuously denied rumors that Caprica was having creative difficulties — if anything, the show was racing forward too fast, and any halt in the show's production was purely due to the upcoming Vancouver Olympics.

A month or so ago, Vancouver-based site CinemaSpy quoted Syfy's Mark Stern as telling a Vancouver press tour that the main reason for Caprica's delays was indeed problems with the show's scripts, and the Olympics were merely a complicating factor in a creative decision to take a break:

Trying to find [the] journey with these characters has been really interesting. I know for the writers - in terms of where you think you're going to go - turns out to be, not exactly where you ... there are things that have been pitched out ... this, episode 8, we're going to do this, and it's going to be a whole torture sequence on this other planet, and it's like 'no, actually that doesn't work in terms of where the stories have taken us'. And we actually took a break. We shut down for a few weeks so that we could, at the mid-point ... so that we could regroup and say, 'OK, what have we learned from the first ten; where do we want to go from here?'

If it wasn't for the Olympics, there wouldn't even be a discussion, but unfortunately, because of the Olympics, we've been really up against when we really have to be out of production. So what would normally be a very easy decision in terms of 'let's take a hiatus and take a break and write more scripts', became a very difficult and expensive proposition... but we did it anyway because it was worth it.

Variety quotes Murphy bursting with excitement to be coming on board Caprica:

As a rabid 'Battlestar Galactica' fan, it's hard not to go in that writers room and not just grin ridiculously. These are the people who made the best TV show ever. To be able to be a part of the legacy of that show, I'd be willing to pay them for that.

To be fair, the Desperate Housewives thing is the first thing people usually mention about Murphy in articles, but he also worked on Reaper. And he's co-creating a musical based on Heathers, which could be a good sign. Fingers crossed, anyway.

<![CDATA[Watch Dollhouse — Or The Baby Gets It!]]> It takes guts to turn your heroine into a horror-movie monster, and sorta mean it. Last night, Echo's propensity for going beyond her mission parameters finally turned scary and wrong. Won't somebody think of the children? Spoilers below.

Last night's Dollhouse is never going to be most people's favorite episode of the series, but it was pretty interesting and had some neat ideas — it's the sort of episode that will look great when you view the whole season on DVD, in one go. In fact, I couldn't help wondering, as I watched it, whether Joss Whedon and his new showrunners Tara Butters and Michele Fazekas were more consciously making the show for DVD viewers, since that's where all the eyeballs actually are. Oh, and this was the first script by Reaper creators Butters and Fazekas.

As a stand-alone piece of Friday night entertaining, "Impact" was a bit frustrating because you really didn't have anyone to root for until towards the end.

I think the episode actually stumbled a bit, by not making the client of the week sympathetic earlier. When we finally do start to see Nate Jordan's caring side, it's an unexpected revelation. (There was a moment, though, where I did wonder if Nate had just somehow bought a baby from somewhere, and then hired Echo to be its pretend-mom, and there was some crazy, deeper scheme at work here. And that was a nice bit of misdirection, actually.) For most of the episode, Nate appears to be an evil jerk, who's hired a surrogate mom in lieu of a plain old nanny.

It turns out Nate has hired the Dollhouse to create a caring mother for his newborn son, because he's incapable of forming an emotional attachment with the boy himself. We find out, towards the end of the episode, that this is because Nate's real wife died in childbirth and he foolishly blames the baby for it. But Nate's emotional distance from his son winds up causing more problems, because Echo (who believes she's Nate's wife and the baby's mother) thinks he's having an affair or doing something illegal. And then, through a wacky misunderstanding, Echo thinks Nate is planning on killing her and getting rid of the baby, so she runs.

And then, as the episode progresses, Echo starts to seem more and more demented and out of control, until we get the scene excerpted above, with the lightning and the knife and the weird horror movie cliches. Since Echo never seemed to be in jeopardy in the episode, and we scarcely cared about Nate, it seemed like we were mostly supposed to be worried that Echo's glitchiness would harm the baby somehow.

You have to admire Butters and Fazekas for coming up with a new spin on the show's central questions about mind vs. body. This time around, the central problem is that Topher has figured out a way to tweak Echo's mind so much, she actually lactates and can breastfeed "her" baby. This, Topher later concedes, may have been "a bridge too far." Echo becomes so attached to the baby, it makes her become paranoid and over-protective, and even after her mind has been wiped, she retains the emotional/physical connection with the baby in her Doll state. The episode subtly (to its credit) reinforces this idea that the mother/child bond is stronger than Topher's mental software, by talking about how the child "imprints" onto the mother early on.

But really, just like last week's episode, this week's was the tale of two Dolls. One current, one sorta former. Last week, we saw the contrast between Echo's desire to rediscover her "original" personality, Caroline, and Whiskey's desire to remain Dr. Claire Saunders, even though she knows that's not a "real" personality. This week, we saw Echo suffering because she still remembers her imprints after they're erased, and struggling with the pain of awareness — and meanwhile, we caught up with November, who has no memory of her time as a Doll, and is totally happy about it. It really is true — November should be on the Dollhouse's promotional DVD. She seems to have reintegrated into "civilian" life with no difficulty whatsoever.

And here's a random thought — what it Melanie/November is the "name" that Senator Perrin has, who can help him bring down the Dollhouse? I don't have much to say about the scenes of Alexis Denisof as a crusading senator, except that his accent seemed to wobble quite a bit. And there's definitely something weird about his wife. Is she a Doll? Is she going to be mind-wiped? The episode sort of faked us out when she went to answer the door, and we thought something had happened to her.

The only other thought I had is that I've figured out why so many of the show's leads are looking weird this season — it's the HD cameras. Eliza Dushku keeps saying they're filming in HD now, and it allows them to film much more quickly. But honestly, Dushku, Tahmoh Penikett and Fran Kranz are all looking a bit strange now: every line on their faces stands out in sharp relief, and Kranz appears to be wearing eye shadow. Maybe the show's lighting is weird with those cameras? Just a random thought.

Sadly, Dollhouse dipped to a new low, 2.1 million viewers. So enjoy your mind-wiped identity crises while you can, kids.

<![CDATA[Reaper Might Actually Survive On SyFy...Or Somewhere Else]]> One Reaper actress's Twitter page was all, well, atwitter yesterday with the news that the canceled CW show was 90% certain to find new life on SyFy. Or maybe somewhere else. Still, Reaper's resurrection chances seem to be improving.

Jenny Wade, who plays the demon Nina on the show, caught the attention of fans desperate for news on the show's future yesterday, with the following series of tweets:

will let u know what i know when i know it which will b any min now-but its lookin VERY happy 4Reaps! (could my agnt b n e slowr rite now?!)

ok, don't get too excited, guys. i don't wanna ruin christmas for ya. we'll know by the end of the day, though. xo

OKAY*deepbreath* y'all, from the most crdible sources i have, REAPER is a GO on SciFi. No official wrd til tomorrow, tho! lookin like 90%...

soo…now hearing it's NOT SciFi. i HATE hearing lil pieces ata time, as i'm sure u do, so til i c a contract, i will let it be.

Her status updates are now locked, so that's all the information we have to work with for the time being. I'm not completely sure how the most credible sources she has - which may or may not be her agent - could suddenly switch which cable channel is supposedly picking up Reaper. (Crazy theory: she was told "it's NOT SciFi" because executives there are taking this whole SyFy rebranding thing a little too seriously.)

Whatever the particulars, this has to be considered positive news for Reaper, although it sounds like concrete details are still a ways away (even if an official announcement was supposedly imminent). It also remains unclear what this might mean for showrunners Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters, who despite signing an exclusive deal with 20th Century Fox have said they would be involved in a third season, or for Sock, as actor Tyler Labane will be starring on Fox's new sitcom Sons of Tucson.

For now, we'll just have to be content with upgrading the possibility of a Reaper renewal from idle speculation to wild, unsubstantiated rumors. That's almost something.

<![CDATA[Behind The Scenes Of Terminator Salvation! Doctor Who's Awkward Reunion! Locke's Fate Explained!]]> Spoiler frenzy! There's tons of Terminator Salvation behind-the-scenes footage. Plus more Transformers story details. New Doctor Who set pics reveal a surprising twist. The fate of Lost's Locke explained! Also: Iron Man, Smallville and Reaper.

Terminator Salvation:

The first reviews of this film are in, including a few new spoilers. The movie references The Great Escape a few times. Marcus Wright's existential dilemma, after realizing he's a cyborg, comes fairly late in the movie, and so does his determination to "find out who did this to me." The only funny bits are the callbacks to earlier movies, like when people say "I'll be back" and "Come with me if you want to live." [Variety and Hollywood Reporter]

Also, G4 had an hour-long behind-the-scenes special on the making of this film, and here's the whole thing:

So what would happen in Terminator 5? According to McG, it would be "more of a Skynet story, more of a John Connor story," and look more into the genesis of Marcus Wright and the machine hardware. [Access Hollywood]

Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen:

The details about the movie's storyline which we ran the other day came from two junior novelizations. Now, the same source has read the grown-up (sort of) novelization, and has a new batch. The story starts with a giant robot startling a group of hunters who are chasing a big jungle cat — they worship it as a god, even after it tosses one of them around.

In the Shanghai confrontation, the ice cream truck has a bumper sticker that says "Decepticons suck my popsickle." Arcee and the Twins chase Sideswipe down an alley, but only Arcee catches up with him. Meanwhile, Optimus jumps out of a C-17 to tackle Demolishor, who warns "This is not your planet to rule — the Fallen is coming back!" with his dying breath.

NEST's headquarters is on Diego Garcia Island. Soundwave merges with a military satellite. Galloway, the NSA rep, asks Optimus if the Autobots would leave if requested — since the Decepticons seem to be attacking because of the Autobots' presence. Optimus says sure, but what if Galloway's wrong about the Decepticons' intent?

When Sam gets to college, his mom accidentally eats a brownie with "extra sugar" and gets high, after which hijinks ensue. Sam loses track of time at the frat party and stands up Mikaela on their first "webcam date." (Insert snarky comments here.) Meanwhile, The Fallen promises to make the resurrected Megatron a Prime once they succeed — and he says the Allspark can never be destroyed, only transformed, which is why it went into Sam's mind.

After Sam escapes the Decepticons, Soundwave calls Sam's mom, who's vacation in Paris, demanding to know where Sam is. Judy hangs up on Soundwave.

When Sam and friends get to Egypt, they're attacked by a Decepticon who becomes a WWI biplane. (Why?) And there are lots of weird clues to the location of the super-powerful Matrix, like "when Dawn alights the Dagger's Tip, three kings will lead the way."

During the final showdown, Skids gets sucked into "Devastator's open mouth," but then blasts out of Devastator's right eye. Skorponok wounds Jetfire really badly, but Jetfire manages to dispose of Skorponok. And then Jetfire sacrifices the last of his parts to help repair Optimus and enable him to fly. Also, Optimus tells Megatron that Primes are born, not made, and the Fallen lied when he promised to make Megatron a prime. "You were betrayed." So Megatron doesn't help the Fallen when Optimus wails on him.

And here's how the adult novelization ends:

Optimus Considered. "I know one thing. Whatever it may hold, it is a future we'll meet together. Our Planets, our races, united by a history long forgotten, yet to be discovered." Tilting back his head, he peered up at the sky and through it, to the stars beyond.

More grown-up details at the link. [TFW2005]

Also, toy spoilers! Here's our best look, so far, at Optimus and Jetfire combined, from the end of the movie. [Transformers Movie Chronicles]

Iron Man 3:

Faran Tahir once again expresses his desire to have his character from the first movie come back in the third, having evolved into Iron Man's arch-nemesis, the Mandarin. His fate, he stresses, was left up in the air. [Movies-Spoilers]

Doctor Who:

Not only is Billie Piper back for a cameo in David Tennant's final episodes, so is her on-screen mom, Camille Coduri. The two filmed a scene where they walk through the Powell Estate, and they're having a bit of an argument. Then they hug and make up. Jackie tells Rose happy new year and tries to tell her not to stay out all night. "Try and stop me," Rose replies. Then she comes around the corner and runs into the Doctor, who's staggering and convulsed with pain, clutching the wall. He asks her what year it is, and she says 2005. (So Rose hasn't actually met the Doctor yet.) He tells her he's sure she'll have a fantastic year. Then he has a startling confrontation with Ood Sigma, whom he also meets in this fall's "Waters Of Mars." The Daily Mail article also repeats the earlier, somewhat suspect, claim that Claire Bloom is playing "the Doctor's mother." (Some of the pics showing Tennant and Piper laughing are from between takes.) Some photos are by Katiespbrennan, StarshipTrooper and BilliePiperFan [Daily Mail and Planet Gallifrey]

Lost:

The Dharma Initiative's connection to Ann Arbor and the University of Michigan will play a huge role in the show's sixth and final season, say the producers. [USA Today via SpoilersLost]

So is John Locke really dead? Yes, says actor Terry O'Quinn, who explains what he'll be doing in season six:

As for his character, O'Quinn says he's really gone. Locke's dead body was rolled out of a metal box toward the end of the two-hour episode, baffling islanders who had been following a Locke imposter. Exactly who is now occupying Locke's body wasn't revealed. O'Quinn said it would be "a good guess" to assume it's a man seen with the infamous Jacob in the beginning of the episode.

"I think, unfortunately, I think it's ended for Locke. But I'm still there, as far as I know," O'Quinn said. "I don't know how it's going to end for this other guy. I'm sad. I miss John Locke, poor guy. He was a pawn."

O'Quinn is gearing up to play a new character when the sixth season begins next year. As for the rest of the story line, he swears he has no idea.

"Your guess is honestly as good as mine is," he said. "There's going to be some confrontation that will somehow, I'm guessing, have to do with Jack or Locke or something like that. I think these guys are just setting up good and evil. It's the way Locke said in the very beginning of the show: One is light and one is dark. Two sides. I think that's what we've got."

[GoUpstate via SpoilersLost]

Smallville:

Is Davis Bloome really dead? All signs point to yes, says Sam Witwer. Although he makes a joke about them stuffing Davis' body in a closet to deal with later. Also, he says Alison Mack is aware that Chloe is the last character who needs to be disposed of to bring the show in line with the Superman mythos. [TV Guide]

Reaper:

If this show comes back in first-run syndication, Nina the demon won't be around full-time, but she will show up, says actor Jenny Wade. In tomorrow night's episode, she tries to help Sam break his deal with the Devil, but also hooks up Sock with one of her demon pals. And if Sam does succeed in getting out of his Satanic bargain, his relationship with Andi will play a huge role in what happens next. [Sci Fi Wire]

<![CDATA[The Reaper Isn't Dead Yet]]> One of the genre shows on the cancellation bubble of late has been Satan's bounty-hunter show Reaper. But now it's looking as though the Devil's work really isn't ever done.

It may not be official, but it doesn't sound like anyone in Hollywood is holding their breath for the revival of Reaper, a show about a young bounty hunter (Brett Harrison) that begrudgingly collects souls for the devil.

According to THR,

Sources said show producer ABC Studios is in talks with CW affiliate stations about continuing "Reaper" as a syndicated series for Sunday night....when the network recently decided to give Sunday night back to its affiliates, they started preliminary conversations with ABC Studios about possibly continuing the show with original episodes. Sources said that ABC Studios also is exploring a possible afterlife for the cult series on cable.

This is still considered highly optimistic thinking unfortunately as the shows producers (Michele Fazekas and Tara Butter) have already moved on, after signing a two-year deal with 20th Century Fox TV.

Still, it's a sweet little series with a good heart, and I hope it sticks around for a little while longer.

Death Becomes Her is on We at 7 PM.

<![CDATA[Can Lost Undo Last Week's Damage? And What's Alpha's Deal?]]> After last weeks colossally upsetting Lost , let's hope that this week's episode attempts to repair some of the damage. Too bad it's all Jack and Kate. Also, get to know Dollhouse's Alpha a lot better.

Monday:

Movies:

So now that many of you have seen Wolverine, tell me, which one was better? The new prequel, or X-Men The Last Stand, which is on at 5 PM at FX or Origins?

A virus is spreading, in this remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers, and it's not the botulism injected into lead actress Nicole Kidman's unmoving face. The Invasion is on at 3:30 PM on HBO.

Old men get launched into space to save the world and make old people jokes — because they're old, and that's why it's funny. Space Cowboys is on Cinemax at 5:45 PM.

Tuesday:

Fringe -
This week Fringe reaches into their never ending bag of creepy old man villains and pulls out... a Trekkie. How timely. But also, the Observer knows something that is upsetting Walter, which is not okay in my book. Back off, baldie, this man is a national scifi treasure. Fringe is on Fox at 9 PM.

Reaper -
Nina moves in with the guys, and Sam tries to trick a wealthy jerk into signing over his soul. Who is so rich, he owns polar bears for guard dogs. How do I get that rich? Reaper is on the CW at 8 PM.

Better Off Ted -
Veronica lets down her hair on Better Off Ted — thus scaring the crap out of her entire department. The season finale of Ted is on ABC at 8:30 PM.

Better Off Ted Clip:

Better Off Ted Clip:

Lost -
Lost, Lost, Lost....what you did last week was unacceptable. The screams of a thousand Daniel-loving geeks pierced the night air, how could you? Now all I'm left with is a domesticated house cat Sawyer and a plot that revolves around Kate and Jack trying to save the island. I may never forgive this show for that. But perhaps by trying to execute Faraday's final plans, Kate and Jack will actually manage to press the magic "reset button" and bring Daniel back to us — but we all know the show is too smart for that. Lost is on ABC at 9 PM.

Lost Promo:

Mythbusters -
The magic-bullet myths are tackled in this week's Mythbusters on the Discovery Channel at 9 PM.

Movies:

An athletic teenaged lycanthrope experiences the trials and tribulations of high school in the 1980s. Teen Wolf — the man, the legend — is on 8:30 PM on Cinemax.

Thursday:

Nothing but Star Trek Enterprise and TNG on the Syfy Channel from 8 AM until 8 PM, and then Star Trek: First Contact airs at 9 PM

Smallville -
So this time on "Chloe does crappy things to her friends," Davis is still alive and Chloe thinks she can control him by being around him 24/7... because, yeah, she's that good. Oh wait — looks like it's not working out, and everything all of her friends and ex-fiance told her was true, who knew? Ugh, what a waste of the Doomsday character. Smallville is on the CW at 8 PM.

Supernatural -
Time to get Sam to kick the demon-blood habit, so cue the intervention music and watch as Sam spirals down a predictable drying out, Trainspotting hallucination session. Let's pray for intervening angel fights to break up the predictable coming clean episode, Supernatural is on the CW at 9 PM

Dollhouse
After falling madly in love with Alan Tudyk's crazy eyes, we're dying to find out more about his Echo obsession (and who'd he download into her?), plus did anyone else catch the name of the new girl... Whiskey? The season finale is on Fox at 9 PM.

Dollhouse Promo:

Movies:

It's actually a banner day over at AMC, with Poltergeist at 1 AM, Mystery Men at 12:30, Highlander at 3 PM and Star Trek: Nemesis at 5:30 PM.... I don't think you really could do much better, as far as taste and range here, unless you swapped out Nemesis for Khan).

Saturday:

Movies:

Join Will Smith as he continues in his quest to save the earth from all forms of CG-animated miscreants, in Men in Black, at 4:15 PM on TNT.

My favorite women-power, women-kill-each-other-with-sharp-things-in-the-dark movie of all time, The Descentm is on at 9 PM on the Syfy Channel. Make sure you see it because the sequel is right around the corner.

Sunday:

It's a Mother's Day Eureka marathon on the Syfy Channel, from 9 AM until 6 PM. I have no idea why.

Movies:

Have a freaky Sunday, and remember how hard it is to be a mom, with a teenage girl stuck inside of her. The original version of the classic Disney body-swapping caperFreaky Friday is on at 6 PM on AMC.

<![CDATA[Thrilling Star Trek Promo Spots! Plus Your First Look At Leonard Nimoy In Fringe!]]> New Star Trek TV spots include fresh moments of Kirk badassery. Also, Common talks Terminator Salvation, and Fringe pics include your first Nimoy sighting.Supernatural pics show Dean in paradise. Plus Caprica, Lost and Chuck spoilers.

Star Trek:

Here are three new TV spots. To be honest, only the third one (#11) seemed to have any new footage, but that's some bracing stuff. Including Kirk saying we've seen what Nero's weapon did to Vulcan, and Earth is next. Also, Pike says Kirk can go to Starfleet Academy and become an officer within four years, and Kirk says he'll do it in three. [TrekMovie]

Also, the scene where Kirk and Spock go at it on the Bridge is right out of "This Side Of Paradise" (although I'm just betting Kirk doesn't say anything about the "dog-faced boy.") Also, the perpetually underserviced Uhura is no longer underserviced, in more ways than one. (Nudge nudge.) The new Enterprise's engineering room looks like it's powering the Titanic, or a brewery. Oh, and Nimoy's Spock is Gandalf-ian. [TrekMovie]

Terminator Salvation:

Common says his character, Barnes, has a scene with Marcus Wright where Barnes isn't sure if Marcus is a man or a machine, and he lets out all his fury on Marcus. It gets very emotional. But he's not sure if it's still in the movie or not.

And it sounds like they were rewriting the script on the fly a lot during filming — Common says he was told he was about to film a scene where Barnes finds out his brother has been killed. Common replied that he didn't know Barnes had a brother — but by the time they filmed the scene, he wasn't Barnes' brother any more. That scene involves John Connor coming back from the front line and telling Barnes that their comrade didn't make it. And Barnes responds that if he died for a good reason, then that's the way it had to be.

Also, Moon Bloodgood says her infamous nude scene is in the rain, and involves her character being drawn to a man and feeling "lustful." We may still get to see a few bits of the scene, where her hand is covering her indecent bits. [Comic Book Resources]

Caprica:

Sasha Roiz, who plays Joseph Adama's brother Sam (aka Sam Adams, like the beer) will have an expanded role in the ongoing series. He's just been promoted from recurring character to regular character. [Hollywood Reporter]

Lost:

In tonight's episode, we'll learn whether Ben's attack on Desmond was fatal, says Henry Ian Cusick. And he hints (but won't come out and say) that Desmond may have to travel back to the island to atone for leaving everyone there behind. And in tonight's episode, Sawyer is running around frustrated, trying to keep everything from unraveling. [SpoilersLost]

Fringe:

In the almost-inevitable second season (one episode has already been filmed, for accounting reasons), William Bell will hopefully have some scenes with Walter Bishop. And Nina will play a bigger role. We'll discover that Nina knows more than we've realized until now.[Sci Fi Wire]

Also, the final few episodes of the first season reveal tons of secrets the show had originally planned to hold back for another few years. We'll get the bottom of Harris, and discover more about Mr. Jones when he reappears. And as we mentioned, we'll find out why Olivia is so special, and why she was chosen for this gig. But don't assume Olivia has superpowers — she may just have abilities that we all possess, or she may be going crazy. Also, no matter how many episodes Leonard Nimoy does, William Bell will be a huge part of the show going forward. [E! Online]

Here are some pics from that season finale, including our first glimpse of Leonard Nimoy as William Bell. (Looking, not surprisingly, very much like Leonard Nimoy.) Olivia visits a crime scene, tries to put together a puzzle, and contemplates her next move. Meanwhile, Nina fights to stay alive. And Walter struggles to explain his past to Peter. [Fringe Television]

Supernatural:

Here are some pics from the season finale, where Dean hangs out with the angels while Sam hangs out with Ruby. And is it just me, or is Dean in Heaven? (His own personal Heaven, which is full of burgers and beer?) [SFUniverse]

Chuck:

If the show gets a third season, don't worry that Chuck's new superpowers will change the dynamic of the show — he'll still be the underdog, says producer Josh Schwartz. And he'll go back to being the "asset," which means Sarah still can't date him. Hopefully, Scott Bakula would be back as Chuck's dad. But the return of Jeffster is a sure thing. Oh, and Bryce is really, really dead this time. [TV Guide]

Reaper:

And here are some pics from episode 2x10, "My Brother's Reaper." [Pizquita]

My biggest guilty pleasure, Titan A.E is on Cinemax at 2 PM. It takes place a thousand years in the future where Drew Barrymore and Matt Damon battle killer aliens (who blew up Earth) and attempt to unify humanity. There are space angels, energy aliens, blind aliens, a jaded main character and rock music.

Jennifer Garner freaks out about being a 13-year-old trapped in a 30-year-old's body. FX is showing 13 Going On 30 at 8 PM - no doubt to promote 17 Again, the Zac Efron backwards aging flick, which is kind of the same thing.

It's like Harry Potter for idiots. The THIRD movie in this Disney franchise will be on at 9 PM. Here is the trailer for the first one - I can't find the third as I assume it's too evil even for youtube. I'm buying the DVDs right now.

Not looking for family-friendly bad movies, but still want a laugh? White Noise 2 (you know, the movie where they talk to ghosts through static - no, not Poltergeist, the sequel to the bastardized version with smoke people and Michael Keaton) is on TNT at 12 AM.

But if you'd rather have your eyes burned out in a different manner you could always watch Star Wars Episode 1 and 2 on Spike TV at 9 PM and 12 AM.

Saturday:

Kings -
So Kings has been moved to Saturday and it's up to us to keep it alive and kicking. So stay in and flip on your TV. This week, Macaulay Culkin stars as the creepy little doll faced nephew-to-the-King who was cast out on NBC at 8 PM.

The Syfy Channel movie War Of The Worlds 2: The Next Wave premieres tonight. Words kind of fail how ridiculous this looks. Why make it War of The Worlds at all - why not Yet Another Alien Invasion,? But if they kill that annoying teen in this sequel, who had no business surviving in the Tom Cruise version, then I will change my stance entirely. The movie is on at 8 PM on the Syfy Channel.

Sunday:

Movies:

Get twice the Arnold Schwarzenegger for your buck, in the futuristic 6th Day flick on TMCe at 8 PM.

Spike is debuting Robert Englund and Jenna Jameson's Zombie Strippers at 10 PM. Lap dances and brains for us all!

If you fancy yourself a monster fan, you must see this movie - preferably in a dark and dingy basement that smells like mold.

<![CDATA[Star Trek Comedy And Doctor Who Tragedy — Revealed!]]> Today's spoilers include a new Star Trek video and some reviews. Dan Aykroyd talks Ghostbusters 3, and a Transformers villain is explained. There are tons of Doctor Who set pics. Plus Dollhouse, Fringe and Heroes.

Star Trek:

A new TV spot shows a bit more of the Kirk/cadets brawl, where they call him "Farm boy." Also, someone tells him he's captain now, but it sounds like he's only captain of a shuttle in that instance:

John Cho describes the new film: "It's a younger, more action-filled, more athletic version of "Star Trek," so, I think both camps will be happy." [Hollywood Today]

More on that: This film moves at a lightning-fast pace, hardly ever pausing for breath. Three years of Starfleet Academy is covered by a title card that reads "Three Years Later." From the moment McCoy smuggles an "academically suspended" Kirk aboard Pike's U.S.S. Enterprise, the film zooms forward, with the only pause being the meeting with Old Spock on the ice planet. The movie's final act suffers a bit from a "premature climax" and Nero is disposed of awfully quickly, plus Spock's final battle with Nero's drill is pretty forgettable. But at least Kirk gets a nice Indy moment, and the Enterprise does a good impression of the Millenium Falcon at the Battle of Yavin. [Empire Online]

As you'll know if you've read the comics, the villain Nero is pissed because Spock failed to prevent the destruction of Romulus, so he travels back in time and tries to kill Spock and the rest of the Enterprise crew. And we glimpse the fact that Nero is in pain from the loss of his home planet.

Also, there are comic moments when Kirk tries to find out Uhura's first name. And Chekhov address the entire ship in his funny accent. Simon Pegg is used sparingly, but is hilarious. And we get to see Sulu "driving" the Enterprise, in addition to that big sword fight on Nero's drill. And McCoy is nervous and neurotic. [Cinefools]

Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen:

A toy box gives us a new hint about Megatron's role in the movie:

Trapped in the black, crushing depths of the sea, his mind inert in the grip of stasis lock, Megatron knew nothing of the desperate search mounted for his remains by the other Decepticons. When he was finally brought back online, their effort and sacrifice meant little to him. The only thing that had any meaning was revenge. He would have his vengeance against the human boy who cheated him of his prize, and he swore to celebrate over the smoking wreck of Optimus Prime.

[TF08 via IESB]

Ghostbusters 3:

Sigourney Weaver will be back, promises Dan Aykroyd. "We'll make that happen. There'll be a whole new generation that has to be trained. And that whole new generation will be led by an individual that you'll all love when you hear who it is, but I'm not going to tell you now. There will be lots of cadets, boys and girls, who'll be learning how to use the cyclotron, the accelerators, and the new stuff. The nuon splitter, the inter-planary interceptor, all these great tools they're going to have to flip from dimension to dimension. Anyway." [CHUD via ScreenRant]

Dollhouse:

On Friday, we showed you some pics from episode 11, "Briar Rose." Here's the official synopsis:

Ballard's investigation leads him to the agoraphobic designer of the Dollhouse (guest star Alan Tudyk), and the story of "Sleeping Beauty" foreshadows Echo's future, while allowing her to help a young girl deal with her traumatic past. Adelle goes to the attic in search of answers, while Alpha reveals himself and sets his game in motion.

So Echo's future is to become Sleeping Beauty? Is that how she survives into a post-apocalyptic world? [SpoilerTV]

Doctor Who:

Russell T. Davies says Bernard Cribbins is a "proper companion" for the Doctor in David Tennant's final two parter. But don't assume, just because people have glimpsed John Simm on set, that the Master will be back:

It's not quite as easy to guess what's happening as you think - there's nightmare sequences, and layers of fantasy, because the Doctor's coming to the end of his time. It's quite interesting to watch things being filmed, and think: 'Oh, I can see what that would look like...'

Also, even though all of the season finales before this have been huge and Earth-shattering, the stakes still get bigger in Tennant's final episode. And yet, they also get more personal. [Telegraph]

Now that we're warned that they may be deceiving, here are more set reports. One scene was filmed featuring Wilf wearing his holiday Reindeer hat, dancing to get the attention of a tour-bus for over-50 holidayers. The bus stops and he gets on. And June Whitfield was spotted on set, apparently playing Wilf's friend Henrietta Goodheart.

In another scene, Donna is getting married - yet again - to an unidentified actor. Wilf is there, and the Doctor and the TARDIS were also glimpsed, so maybe the Doctor crashes her wedding. Meanwhile, there's a scene in a back alley, between Donna and John Simm's Master. The master is carrying a mask, of a human with gray hair. Also in the scene are a guy wearing a boy tie and a white-haired man.

And the Doctor visits Sarah Jane Smith's home, at Bannerman Road. Luke is talking on his cell phone while hurrying across the street, and nearly gets run over. The Doctor pushes him out of the way in time. Luke realizes who the Doctor is, and they have a brief conversation before the Doctor walks away. Luke runs to fetch Sarah Jane, and they stand and watch the Doctor walk to the TARDIS. He turns to wave, and Sarah Jane cries.

(Pics and videos by Skarofighter2, Gabriel Strange, Alun_Vega, Scooty and others.) [Planet Gallifrey]

Fringe:

There's a "coming war," says actor Kirk Acevedo. And he's currently shooting a stand-alone episode for season two, which has a sort of "Ghost Whisperer" theme. [Fringe Television]

Heroes:

Here's the official description for the final episode of the season, "The Invisible Thread":

Nathan faces off against Sylar to keep him from meeting the President. Sylar has his own plans for his new partner. Meanwhile, Hiro learns that there are repercussions to regaining his ability. Elsewhere, Matt is forced to go to extraordinary lengths to protect his future with his family.

Also, an extra who was on set claims that he was part of a scene where HRG, Claire and the Petrellis are in a diner, watching Sylar talk on television about how he's going to meet the president and steer the country in the right direction. Claire asks how Sylar can do this, and HRG says he can take on many forms. Nathan says he started this and he's going to end it. Claire says "He's going to kill you!" and Peter says, "I'll go with you." Nathan runs out, followed by Peter. [Heroes Television]

And here's a trailer for the season's last few episodes:

Meanwhile, Matt Parkman will be like, "Daphne who?" Apparently, according to Greg Grunberg, when Matt gets back together with his ex-wife Janice, she'll realize that he's been thinking about her the entire time, and he really wants their relationship to work. So even though it may take a while, Matt and Janice will probably end up together. And meanwhile, Matt's discovery that he has a son will cause him to take an action in the final episode that he may regret for the rest of his life. [TV Guide]

Chuck:

In tonight's episode, Jill agrees to help Chuck track down his dad, so they go to a family reunion under cover as a couple, to meet her Uncle Bernie, the guy who recruited Jill into Fulcrum. And the episode ends with Chuck making a huge decision that affects not just the team, but how General Beckman sees the team. Meanwhile, fear not - by the end of the season, Sarah will get her chance with Chuck. [E! Online]

Reaper:

Here's the description for episode 9, "No Reaper Left Behind":

The Devil (Ray Wise) wants Sam (Bret Harrison) to begin his training to bring about the end of days so he sends him a tutor named Sally (guest star Simone Kessell). Sam decides to seduce Sally to get information from her about how to beat the Devil. Meanwhile, Nina (Jenny Wade) takes revenge on Ben (Rick Gonzalez) and Sock (Tyler Labine).

[SpoilerTV]

Smallville:

Here's the official synopsis for episode 8x20, "Beast":

Oliver (Justin Hartley) discovers Jimmy (Aaron Ashmore) breaking into Chloe's apartment, but things get rapidly worse after Davis jumps from the shadows and attacks both of them.

<![CDATA[Spock's Dilemma, And A Decepticon's Rampage]]> Today's spoiler frenzy includes some new Star Trek reviews and a spiky Transformers pic. Plus a report on actual finished Wolverine footage. Plus Doctor Who, Lost, Sarah Connor, Fringe, Warehouse 13 and Heroes. Spoiler mania!

Star Trek:

It really is true that Leonard Nimoy's role in this film is bigger than just a cameo. He's not like Brando in Superman either, he plays an active part in the storyline, according to Roberto Orci. [E! Online]

Meanwhile, a guy who saw the movie basically posted a synopsis on a forum. In a nutshell, the USS Kelvin is zooming along, around the time Kirk is born, and then Nero's ship appears from a singularity and blasts it. Kirk's dad takes command and saves the escaping crew, including his unborn son. Then Kirk's a young adult who gets in a fight in a bar. Pike tells him to join Starfleet, so he does. Three years later, Old Spock appears out of another singularity, and the Narada picks him up. Kirk is graduating, and cheats on the Kobayashi Maru. Suddenly, Vulcan is under attack.

A fleet assembles to defend Vulcan, and they all get wiped out, except for the USS Enterprise. Pike gets captured, Spock takes command, and the Enterprise flies at low warp. Nero's black hole weapon destroys Vulcan. Kirk is upset and wants to fight Nero, so he gets into a brawl with Spock. So Spock ditches him on a Vulcan moon. There, Kirk meets Old Spock, along with Scotty, and Old Spock tells him the future. They beam back aboard the Enterprise, and Kirk forces Young Spock out of command.

So Kirk rushes to confront Nero, who is trying to destroy Earth with his black hole weapon. Young Spock disables the weapon while Kirk fights Nero. Spock is on a collision course and about to be killed... but the Enterprise saves him at the last moment. Everyone cheers and the Enterprise goes to warp, as we hear the familiar "Space, the final frontier" bit. The end. Oh, and the guy felt it was too fast-paced and didn't have enough space battles, but he also admits he nitpicks every movie he sees. [Scifi Meshes]

Everybody gets a bit of a backstory in the new film: Bones is a fast friend of Kirk's who gets panicked when he comes on board the Enterprise. Uhura is a steadfast cadet. Spock chooses to serve in Starfleet after the Vulcan elders ridicule his human mother. Scotty is a genius who gets marooned on that Vulcan moon after he slights a superior officer. [News In Film]

Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen:

Here's a pretty nice promo pic of Ravage in action. [SpoilerTV-Movies]

X-Men Origins: Wolverine:

IGN got to see 20 minutes of finished footage from the X-Men prequel (as opposed to the leaked, unfinished version.) There's a scene in the beginning where Young Logan is sick. Victor's dad, a mean drunk, shows up to beat on Logan's dad. A shot is heard, and Logan's dad lies dead on the floor. Logan's bone claws come out for the first time, and he stabs Victor's dad in the gut. Then Logan and Victor run away into the forest, where they decide to stick together no matter what. This leads into a war montage, followed by the two mutants facing a firing squad. Until Stryker offers them an alternative.

Then there's a sequence where the crack mutant squad goes through city slums to a fortified compound. Agent Zero takes out all the armed guards, and the Blob stops a tank by putting his arm into its cannon barrel. In the elevator going up to the bad guy's office, Deadpool jokes about the green light bringing out Stryker's eyes. And then Deadpool kills everyone except the bad guy, with a display of sword-fu.

Then there's a romantic cabin scene, where Silver Fox tells Wolverine a myth about "the spirit world, love and loss." (Wolverine gets his name from this scene.)

Then we see Wolverine getting his adamantium, as Stryker encourages him to "embrace the other side." Wolverine dies during the process, and Stryker waits anxiously for him to come back. "Come on, old friend," he whispers. Then Logan goes ballistic, jumping out of his tank and tearing the place apart. A bullet to his head reveals his new adamantium skull. He slices an "X" in the door, escapes, and jumps naked into a waterfall.

Then there's an old couple who bring Wolverine sandwiches and a nice jacket. Suddenly, tragedy strikes, meaning Wolverine has to do some totally awesome motorcycle stunts with a helicopter. [IGN]

Doctor Who:

The official BBC website posted a smidgen of script from Saturday's episode:

CHRISTINA: Then we need to apply ourselves to the problem with discipline! Which starts with appointing a leader.

THE DOCTOR: Yes, at last, thank you, so...

CHRISTINA: Well, thank goodness you've got me!
(calls out)
Everyone! Do exactly as I say! Inside the bus immediately!

[Planet Gallifrey]

And apparently November's special episode will be called "The Waters Of Mars." [Den Of Geek]

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles:

The show's official blog spilled some deets about tomorrow night's episode. There are not one, but two cyborg-on-cyborg smackdowns. Mr. Murch is back, with some fun interaction with John Henry. Also, there's a special guest star, the West Wing's Josh Malina, who holds his own against Sarah Connor. Some other old favorites that we haven't seen in a while are back. There's a "shocking connection" to Kaliba, the company that was running that Hunter-Killer factory. And we see a new side to Cameron. And these words are uttered: "Something opposes God. Something tempts man into sin." [Fox]

Lost:

Here's how they're describing next week's episode to the British viewers:

After young Ben is reported missing from the infirmary, suspicion mounts among the Dharma Initiative that there are traitors in their midst and Sawyer's lies about the castaways look set to come undone.

Meanwhile, Miles is asked to deliver a package to a senior Dharma operative as flashbacks reveal how he came to be part of Widmore's operation to retrieve Ben from the island. But what is his connection to one of the most important figures in the Dharma Initiative?

What could it be? I can't guess. [SpoilersLost]

Fringe:

William Bell and Walter Bishop were like brothers, going through their Ivy League education together. And then life took them in different directions, either complimentary or not. And they have different approaches to the Pattern, and different ideas of what the Pattern is. The Pattern is somewhat in the eye of the beholder, and what you think it is can become the reality. And Roberto Orci hints that one of these men sees the Pattern as saving the world, the other sees the Pattern destroying it. [E! Online]

Warehouse 13:

We've got our first hint at an antagonist for this Syfy summer series about two Secret Service agents who get assigned to work at a warehouse where every mystical or other-worldly item gets stored. Alison Scagliotti (the "smart and sassy girlfriend" from the Nickelodeon show Josh & Drake) will play

Claudia Donovan, a young, hip, brilliant techno-wiz, who manages to successfully breach the Warehouse's complex security system in order to track down [the caretaker] Artie (Rubinek). With a natural aptitude for science and technology, Donovan's talents enable her to manipulate and activate many of the objects contained in the Warehouse to help the Team.

The reference to "helping the Team" makes me think she'll wind up joining our heroes. [The Futon Critic]

Heroes:

All ten original Heroes from season three will be back for the finale, says actor James Kyson Lee. Ando and Hiro are determined to take down the people behind Building 26, and they're going to combine their powers to do that. And we'll get a glimpse at volume five, tentatively called "Redemption." [E! Online]

And here are some pics from episode 3x24, "I Am Sylar". [The ODI]

And here's a sneak peek from Monday's new episode, "1961":

<![CDATA[Is The Reaper At Death's Door?]]> The CW's devilish TV show, Reaper, is starting to show signs of atrophy. News leaked out today that the show's producers have inked a deal with another studio, so is Reaper headed for the pit?

According to the trades, Michele Fazekas and Tara Butter are in a two-year deal with 20th Century Fox TV. So is it back to the salt mines for the good looking and sometimes funny cast? Most likely.

If Fazekas and Butter take this deal, they would have to leave Reaper for Fox, and seeing as no one else is stepping up to the plate, we're betting against Reaper. Under the seven-figure pact, the duo will join a Fox TV series and develop projects for the studio.

<![CDATA[Fringe's Walter Dances, While Ben's On Trial]]> This week Lost's Ben must atone for being the world's most compulsively watchable villain, while Fringe finally comes back. Also, it's the season finale of T:SCC, and Macaulay Culkin makes his Kings debut. Clips/spoilers ahead...

Monday:

Chuck -
The dreamy Scott Bakula dons a floppy hair-don't as Chuck's washed out drunkard Pop. Together, Chuck and his blonde girlfriend convince Pops to dry out long enough to join the family wedding. But all that work goes to hell when Chevy Chase pops in as a lunatic CEO with a dark and twisted past that links directly back to Bakula. Chuck is on NBC at 8 PM.

Heroes -
After last week's not-terrible episode, this week's has a lot to live up to, especially since it's all about Angela. This week, we get answers to Angela's past. Meanwhile, Noah continues to have marital troubles, and Sylar continues his buddy cop journey with Danko. Heroes is on NBC at 9 PM.

Possibly the creepiest, and most overlooked, movie ever — Disney's The Black Hole — is on TCM tonight at 5:45 PM. A crew discovers a spaceship on the edge of a black hole with a nasty secret and a mad Captain.

Tuesday:

Fringe -
J.J. Abrams' Scooby Gang is back, with a pale feral child who makes Walter dance. But how does this silent child relate to a creepy serial killer who's been leaving his/her victims splayed out in public squares for all to see? Fringe is on Fox at 9 PM.

Fringe Clip-

Reaper -
It's a Reaper road trip, where Sock tries to sleep with his stepsister, and Sam almost gets eaten by a giant snake creature. You know: same old, same old. Reaper it on the CW at 8 PM.

Trevor continues on with his Cupid shtick, with Claire's friend Riley. And we all learn an important lesson about love, or something. Cupid is on ABC at 10 PM.

Better Off Ted -
A glitch in the company's sensor system causes Ted to have to battle the execs' cost-cutting ways yet again. But who cares about him? Phil and Lem are back! Better Off Ted is on ABC at 8:30 PM.

Lost -
The horribly misunderstood Ben must atone for all his bad deeds, by coming face to face with the smoke monster. Will we ever find out what it is? Who knows, but Smokey is still my favorite character on the island. Lost is on ABC at 9 PM.

Cuba and Florida teem with underwater alien bases — just ask the UFO Hunters, on the History Channel at 10 PM.

Catch up on your Kings from 11 PM until 3 AM with a mini marathon, over at the Syfy Channel.

No new Smallville.

No new Supernatural.

Aliens are disguised as creepy little infants in this 90s remake of the classic 1960 film, Village of the Damned. That's at 2 AM on Cinemax.

Dollhouse Promo:

Prepare to suspend your disbelief indefinitely for both parts of a movie about a massive 10.5 scale earthquake that threatens to turn the US into some version of hell, only with sushi. Apocalypse parts 1 and 2 is on USA at 10 AM.

Another good double feature is The Fly and The Fly 2, over at AMC at 2:14 AM and 4:15 AM. I'm actually more interested in seeing Fly 2 as it's all about the unfortunate fly scientist's spawn being a teen and dealing with his raging insect instincts.

Saturday:

Movies:
There's a classic SyFy channel low-budget werewolf movie — this time with a military slant because they're using werewolves as soldiers. War Wolves is on at 11 PM.

Another terrible Syfy Original, Monster Ark, alleges that before Noah built THE arc, he built another one for monsters — and one got loose and he hid it in a box in Iraq, and they find it in this movie. So that's what happened to the unicorns, check it out at 5 PM.

Sunday:

Kings -
Macaulay Culkin is finally making his grand Kings debut, and I cannot wait. He's so perfect for the evil cast-out son, it's going to be tremendous. Kings is on NBC at 8 PM.

The worst Kevin Costner movie of them all, Waterworld, will come jet skiing your way on Encore at 8 PM.

<![CDATA[New Star Trek And G.I. Joe Pics, Plus Bumblebee's Zaniest Scene Yet]]> New Star Trek pics show a red-alert situation. Plus, Transformers' Bumblebee gets emotional and G.I. Joe's Duke gets stoic. There are Lost/Smallville set reports. Plus Avatar, Dollhouse, Chuck, Doctor Who and Fringe pics and spoilers.

Star Trek:

The movie's official site posted a few new images, which are pretty close to stuff we've seen before. Except for the Kirk/Spock image — is that what "red alert" is going to look like? [Loup D'Argent Online]

Our latest update on the crucial "how sexy does Kirk get" question, from Chris Pine:

"Kirk is a consummate flirt," Chris said with a smile. "There's some snuggling. There's some light caressing."

[Access Hollywood]

Meanwhile, let's hope Fandango's description of the movie is just wrong. Apparently those paper-bag-headed maniacs are claiming that Sulu is the ship's "staff psychiatrist." Sacrilege! [Star Trek LJ community]

Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen:

Director Michael Bay showed a scene at ShoWest. Sam Witwicky opens his garage door to see Bumblebee in robot mode, hitting himself in the head, trying to get his voice back. Sam tells Bumblebee he wants to talk about college, and the robot responds by playing "I'm So Excited" by the Pointer Sisters, and dancing around. But then Sam explains that Bumblebee can't come with him to college, and the robot makes water come out of his head like he's crying. Meanwhile, Mikaela runs outside and changes her clothes. Sam explains to Bumblebee that he wants to experience college like a normal guy, but Bumblebee will always be his first car, etc. Then he turns to discover Mikaela standing outside wearing a white dress (a wedding dress?) holding a purple bouquet. [Superhero Hype]

G.I. Joe:

Ripcord (Marlon Wayans) has a line in the movie where a guy grabs him, and Marlon remarks on the guy's "kung-fu grip," in a shout-out to the original action figures. And there are lots of scenes of Duke and Ripcord running around shouting things like "You get the rockets, I'll get the nanomites." And like every other actor from this movie, Channing Tatum says they all overact massively. [Sci Fi Wire]

And here's a new one-sheet from the movie. [IESB]

Avatar:

Michelle Rodriguez says her character, a pilot, dies in this film. [Latina via Slashfilm]

Dollhouse:

The April 24 episode, "Haunted," sounds like another crazy-cakes application of the show's mind-programming premise:

When Adelle's wealthy friend is murdered, Adelle imprints Echo with the woman's memories and personality to solve the case. Ballard looks into Mellie's past, and Topher secretly programs Sierra for an engagement.

[SpoilerTV]

Doctor Who:

Don't hold your breath for Martha Jones to turn up again. Actor Freema Agyeman says a Martha return, if it happens, might well be thirty years from now. [Digital Spy]

Lost:

Here's the UK press release for Wednesday's new episode:

In order to atone for the awful sins of his past, Ben attempts to summon the Smoke Monster ready to be judged.

As he seeks redemption, we learn more about Ben's terrible actions and meet some faces from the past. His relationship with 'daughter' Alex is revealed, as is the story of how he came to steal her from Danielle.

But what is the truth behind the enmity between Ben and Charles Widmore – and did he make good on his vow to avenge Alex's death?

[SpoilersLost]

A fan spotted a bit of filming, involving a twentysomething Asian woman and a twentysomething Caucasian man. The woman looked sort of like Sun. They were wearing fancy bathing suits. The fan wonders if maybe this was grown-up Aaron and Ji Yeon? (Or maybe Sun's stunt double, plus some random guy?) [SpoilersLost]

Another fan spotted a new set that had been built for a night shoot — a camp made up of buildings clustered around a very deep "indentation." And a crew member hinted that the indentation is crucial to the show's history. Also, she dropped a hint that the 1970s plot ends before the season is over. [SpoilersLost]

And a third set report: Locke, Ben and a "scruffy guy" were filming a scene in an Egyptian temple, which had a tapestry sun with an eye in it, and the sun's rays have hands. There were bloody clothes, a knife and some fire extinguishers handy. [SpoilersLost again]

Smallville:

A fan visited the show's set and glimpsed a new set, with a giant eight-foot circular hole in the middle of one wall. And a loose-lipped crewmember said that's the Watchtower, the headquarters of the Justice League. It'll be on Earth, rather than on the Moon, but it looks incredible and "they went all out." Also, it sounds like at least a couple of members of the Injustice League get killed in the finale's showdown, which involves smashing a hole in a blue wall. And Davis' trashed pickup truck was glimpsed, although that could have been pickup shots for the episode "Infamous." And a crewmember spontaneously expressed concern that maybe Chloe will be the one who snuffs it in the end. (Sounds like he/she didn't know, though.) More pics at the link. [Comic Book Movie]

The synopsis of episode 8x19, "Stiletto":

Lois (Erica Durance) believes that she needs a big story to secure her reputation as a star reporter but the red/blue blur continues to elude her. However, after Chloe (Allison Mack) is mugged, Lois steps in to fend off one of the attackers and uses the opportunity to pretend a new superhero, Stiletto, has come to town and is giving exclusives to Lois. Clark (Tom Welling) is concerned Lois will hurt herself pretending to be a superhero but after he is captured by thugs with kryptonite, Lois steps in to save the day.

Also, the "red-blue blur" tells Stiletto that her merit as a writer is also a great power. [KryptonSite]

Fringe:

Here's what happens in "Bad Dreams," the April 21 episode written and directed by Akiva Goldsman:

As a suicide incident occurs at New York's iconic Grand Central station, Agent Dunham simultaneously witnesses the event while asleep and dreaming in Boston. Rattled by the extraordinary and coincidental circumstances, Olivia, Peter and Walter investigate further, but keep coming up empty-handed. As these violent occurrences continue and worsen, Olivia is sent into an unthinkable direction and shocking details emerge about the ZFT manuscript, the highly experimental drug Cortexiphan and Olivia's childhood

And here are some pics. [Fringe Television]

Chuck:

A TV spot gives a glimpse of tonight's episodes of this show and Heroes:

And here are some new images from tonight's episode. Shiny supervillain lair! [ChuckTV]

And here's what happens in the season finale, "Chuck Vs. The Ring":

When Ellie (Sarah Lancaster) and Awesome's (Ryan McPartlin) wedding day finally arrives, Chuck (Zachary Levi) must save Ellie's life and her big day from being ruined by Ted Roark (guest star Chevy Chase) and Fulcrum. Meanwhile, with the Intersect out of his head, Chuck is up against his most dangerous mission yet: figuring our what to do with the rest of his life.

[SpoilerTV]

Reaper:

A synopsis of episode 2x08, "Home Stretch":

Sam (Bret Harrison) convinces Alan (guest star Sean Patrick Thomas) to tell him how Alan won his soul back from the Devil (Ray Wise). In exchange, Sam must figure out how to relocate Alan to the Vatican, where the consecrated ground will keep him safe. Meanwhile, the Devil pits Sam and Morgan (Armie Hammer) against each other, and Nina (Jenny Wade) demands that Ben (Rick Gonzalez) introduce her to his family.
