Every actor who considers "getting a gig" on a SF show as low rent - and there are those who do - needs to follow Mark Sheppard's example.

He treats fans with such respect, and has a genuine enthusiasm (and patience) for the series he has appeared in.

I'll admit to being one of the BSG fans who desperately wanted Romo to be the "5th". The character seemed so much more fascinating and complicated compared to Cavil. No offense to Dean Stockwell - but Cavil may as well had a mustache to twirl.

@MISS MERCY STREET: Yeah. I just don't know if Dean Stockwell showed up on the set one day with the mustache, or someone from wardrobe just pasted it on him one day.

Here's my theory about Romo's dead cat. Romo had been playing with quantum mechanics and tried the Schrodinger's cat experiment. But when he opened the box, he found the cat dead. He was on the wrong side of the 50-50 chance.

@Roklimber: I can understand that; carrying out practical versions of quantum mechanic thought experiments makes for a great stress relief during a high stakes trial.

I'll give him that. Romo was a lawyer, sure, so he was bound to be a bit cunning, but I always got the sense that this was more out of practicality than actual deviousness.

Contrast him with Lee, who was idealistic to the point of being naive. Romo was just much more of a realist, and more of a cynic.

@Anekanta: Some cunning aside, Romo always came off as a pretty upfront character. And upfront people have troubles being devious.

I always liked Romo (dead cat aside).

I could never stop myself from yelling "He's badgering the witness!" during his courtroom scenes.

He is one of the best actors out there, I hope he gets to play a normal guy for once. ( normal being defined as not a villein, jerk, or really really odd.)((Romo Lampkin donesnt count cuz of the dead cat thing ))

@RandomFrequentFlierDent: Yep, look at Alyson Hannigan and Cap. Nathan Fillion doing really well on non- scifi shows. tho Cap. Nathan Fillion should be a bigger star than he is now.

Male dogs cannot possibly be the "mitochondrial dog"; mitochondria only get inherited through egg cells.

Well, technically there's a male equivalent to that, the "Y-chromosome marker" thing....but you can't be a male "Mitochondrial Eve", males like Jake the Dog are "Y-chromosomal Adam"

You are forgetting the central problem - only one dog.

Clearly this proto-canine was able to reprosuce asexually.

@mordicai: If the plan lives on it's "love me, feed me, walk me, play with me, let me lie on your lap."

At least that's my dog's plan.

And I liked the dead cat. Sort of a descent into madness thing.
