I don't see anywhere where it says that he's a "saviour".

Or even an impression that he's the next overloaded hack to hammer down any nails of creativity from the originals he's adapting.

So. Underwater people are trying to take over us land dwellers. I would think it's fairly easy... just dig underneath us. They don't need to worry about water filling up the shafts and if they're after our mineral resources, well, they can just... dig directly to it.

I wouldn't want to argue against a guy wearing an octopus necklace.
