I think it's great that he is willing to be typecast into scifi roles, anything or anyone that is a force for expanding the genre is okay in my book. Of course it helps if the material is actually good, and he was the better part of Terminator Salvation.

@disatess: Bale is completely overrated in my eyes, and the only movie I can think of that I enjoyed him in was Equilibrium. The Dark Knight was a good movie no doubt about it but Ledger stole that show and Aaron Eckhart was better. I think it's his low Batman voice, it's just incredibly annoying.

@goldfarb: I was at avatar day, I was mightily impressed by the achievement, and can say that none of the trailers have yet done it justice. does it cross the uncanny valley? no, but I also don't think we're gonna get even close for a while, until we can master the random patterns of movement. the 3d is really the stuff i'm most interested in. it really has never been used as a cinematic device before by a cinematographer that knows what they're doing, and I am excited for it's potential application as a new tool for artists. #avatar

Ha. Ha. Ha. You see, it's funny because he thinks he's the one scaring the monster away but he doesn't realize it's really the bigger, scarier monster behind him. It's humour!

Also, something about the aliens in people clothes kind of freaks me out. It might be their longer proportions, but it looks weirdly wrong to me. It also might be the tails. #avatar

Cubed would be an animatronic Na'vi tapping you on the shoulder, and the Uncanny Tesseract would be if it spoke with the G-Man's voice from Half-Life. #avatar

OH MY GOD. THIS IS AWESOME. SEXAY! FABULOUS! THIS, YES THIS, COULD HAVE BEEN THE SALVATION OF TERMINATOR SALVATION. OH, OH STUDIO, WHY DID YOU PREVENT US FROM THE GLORY THAT IS THIS SCENE?

um. yeah. anyways. not only a boring scene, but probably a poor use of 30 seconds of moon bloodgood's breasts. (journeyman would've done it better.)

it's particularly a shame because the original 'terminator' had one of my favorite sex scenes in movies.
