Sex Secrets Of Hancock And Smallville's Clark Kent

Spoiler fiends are the truest afficionados of media SF. We're endlessly curious about everything: we actually care about drunken superhero Hancock's sex life, and exactly what Mulder and Scully's status is in X-Files 2. We pore over toy announcements to decipher the secret of Doctor Who's season finale, and read between the lines to dope out Smallville's next female villain. We scan every bit of new Speed Racer footage, and comb through hints about Heroes season three. We spy on Lost's finale shooting. We even pay attention to the reports about Eureka's next season and news about Star Wars books, that's how omnivorous we are. If it's a spoiler, we're interested. More »

Terminator's Bleak Future Will Keep Growing

Rumors that the unstoppable Terminator franchise was being deactivated have turned out to be totally false. Various sites reported last week that Terminator 4, the post-apocalyptic robot-fighting sequel starring Christian Bale as John Connor, was cancelled. But now it's just been announced that Moon Bloodgood (the smirking time-traveler from TV's Journeyman) will co-star in T-4 as a resistance fighter suffering from survivor's guilt because she survived the nuclear holocaust. And the movie starts principal photography May 5. Meanwhile, it's official that Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles will have a second season on Fox, so we'll find out if Summer Glau survived almost getting blown up in the season finale. Which Science Fiction Ass-Kicker Would You Want As Your Bodyguard?

It's a tough world out there, and if science fiction is any guide, it's only going to get more dystopian and hairstyle-challenged in the years to come. You're going to need some protection from all those tinfoil-clad harpoon-punks who want to steal your teeth. Ideally, it should be someone dependable, as well as a person you'd like to spend all your time with. Someone like one of the great bad-asses of science fiction. Which sci-fi bruiser would you want to have as your personal bodyguard? More »

Secret Revelations from the Future in Terminator Alternate Reality Game

We've written before about the Sarah Connor Chronicles alternate reality game (ARG), where players film themselves acting out the roles of workers at a corporation called Einitech Labs. Enitech has discovered a way to photograph pictures of the future using "tachyons." At first they just see newspapers that are several months in the future, but slowly they begin getting pictures of San Francisco in a post-apocalyptic state. And then they start getting stalked by robots. Each episode contains a puzzle, and this special BoingBoing TV episode of the ARG is no exception. Peek below to get the secret subliminal message. The Greatest Pinnochio-Bot Of All Time

When Summer Glau's Terminator started ballet dancing for no particular reason in a recent episode of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, it totally made sense: She's just another android/robot who wants to be human. Like the guy in this classic Johnnie Walker Scotch ad. It's like the fourth rule of robotics: The more autistic and socially clueless an android is, the more he/she/it will crave humanity. I Married A Terminator!

Terminator's rules for keeping the romance in your marriage: Always think about the other women you've strangled during a tender moment, so she'll see the fire in your eyes. Keep her wine-glass full at all times. Do the finger-lip thing, women love that. The best part about the "I Married A Terminator" scenes from last night's Sarah Connor Chronicles is that Summer Glau's Terminator is taking seduction notes. Which is the main reason the show needs a second season — to see Summer put those lessons into action. At the prom. More »

You Can't Stop The Terminator (We Hope!)

The destiny of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles is not yet written, Executive Producer Josh Friedman told a conference call about the series today. Fox hasn't made any decisions yet about its fall 2008 line-up, so there will be a "post-game" discussion after Monday's two-hour season finale. The show's done well with some key demographics, and among DVR/Tivo users, and isn't that expensive a show to make, Friedman added. So fingers crossed. Friedman also addressed some of the show's dangling plotlines, and had a special message for io9. More »

TV This Week: Watch Summer Glau Do The Cat Dance!

These days, the networks are bending over backwards to promote their shows online — and not just with crappy Flash games and viral-marketing mysteries. We have new promo clips for this week's episodes of Lost, Sarah Connor, Kyle XY and Jericho. You can get a pretty good flavor of which shows will be exciting (Jericho) and which will be kind of painful (Sarah Connor, sadly.) More »

"Terminator" Producer Wanted To Bring Back Kyle Reese From The Dead

Thomas Dekker, who plays the future rebel leader John Connor on Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, has been working out so he can kick some more ass in the show's second season (if any.) John has been somewhat kittenish up till now, because the producers want to give him an arc on his way to future hero-dom, and because it's hard to write a show with "three alphas," including John's mom and Summer Glau's Terminator, said Executive Producer Josh Friedman. More Sarah Connor secrets after the jump. More »

5 Reasons Scifi Does Better In Movies Than In TV

Why is science fiction so much hotter at the movies than on television? People have wondered for a while. We explain this strange phenomenon, after the jump. More »
