Doctor Who's Russell T. Davies Is The Gay Michael Bay
After watching last night's Doctor Who episode, I wished for the first time ever that Russell T. Davies would stay on to produce a fifth season of the BBC's time-traveling adventure show. Not because I think a fifth RTD season would be good, but because I'm dying to see how he could come up with a zanier and more wanktastic final two-parter. Since each finale has to top the last, I'm guessing next year would involve a magic virus that turns everyone in the universe into a Sontaran, including Rose, and then the Cybermen from 29 different universes fight with the Gelth, with exploding ribbons! Spoilers for what actually did happen ahead. More »Battlestar Galactica's Tricia Helfer Is The Black Cat!
The promo frenzy for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull kicks into high gear this week, with Shia LaBoeuf appearing all over the airwaves to explain his Fonzie-esque character Mutt, plus a new Sci Fi Channel special about the real-life crystal skulls. But if you're not obsessing about Indy and his skulls, there's also the season finale of Smallville, which sees the departure of half the show's cast and creators in a hopefully explosive conclusion. And if that doesn't make you want to jump on your TiVo, then how about Battlestar Galactica's Tricia Helfer playing the Black Cat, Spider-Man's baddest girlfriend? It's when times are lean that you need a really good tracker — someone who can scout through the barren underbrush of the TV schedule and forage for programs worth watching. We're still on a severe diet, thanks to last winter's writers' strike. But there are some worthy programs out there. We have two preview clips from Thursday's all-new Lost episode, plus looks ahead at new episodes of Smallville, Doctor Who, Sarah Jane, Spectacular Spider-Man, Transformers and Ben 10. Plus the Sci Fi Channel finally breaks the cheese-ometer. Listings, with minor spoilers only, below the fold. More »Speed Racer's Son Meets A Robot Chimp
If you had a robot butler scheduling your TV viewing (and maybe showing programs on a Teletubbies-style belly screen) he would have an upbeat lilt in his synth-voice when describing this week's TV options. There are actually some worthwhile items, on days other than Thursday and Friday. For instance, might we suggest mutant ghetto rats and robot apes (not actually appearing in the same show)? Plus, Darth Vader wants to cheat you out of all your money. (Daddy needs a new Death Star!) Oh, and there are new episodes of Lost, Smallville, Doctor Who, Sarah Jane, Ben 10, Transformers, Spider-Man and Battlestar. Listings (with minor spoilers) below. More »Lost Returns With Extra-Violent Goodness!
Lost is back once again, wrapping up its fourth season with a block of six hours (over five nights). And the first new installment looks to be the most violent in ages. Plus, PBS has two new documentaries that look to the future: one of which is sunny and optimistic, featuring stars from one of your favorite NPR shows. And the other of which is gloomy and may make you want to slit your wrists. But never fear: your future also includes new episodes of Smallville, Battlestar Galactica and Spectacular Spider-Man! Full listings (with minor spoilers and clips) below. More »TV This Week: Doctor Who, Ben 10 And Smallville
There's actually a lot of great science fiction TV coming up — unfortunately, it's almost all at the end of the week. Doctor Who returns to the Sci Fi Channel, Ben 10 starts a new series with a more grown-up hero, and Smallville comes back from hiatus with an episode that will change everything. (Or at least some things.) There are also new Battlestar, Sarah Jane and Torchwood episodes for American viewers. But what can you do to pass the time until Thursday comes around? We've got you covered, with possibly the most ridiculous time-travel show of all time, plus UFO dogfights. Minor spoilers ahead. More »TV This Week: Welcome Back, Sarah Jane!
This week's big news is the launch of the Sarah Jane Smith Adventures on the Sci Fi Channel. It's only taken a few decades since she left the cast of Doctor Who for Sarah Jane to get a successful spin-off series, but it's pretty much worth the wait. But that's not the only awesome thing on television this week by any means. We have the full picture in our weekly TV listings. More »
Doctor Who's Producer Won't Listen To The Fans
The best Doctor Who spinoff, the kid-oriented Sarah Jane Adventures, will air on the Sci Fi Channel starting in April, producer Russell T. Davies revealed. He also explained why he insisted that Doctor Who must be the only BBC show without a message board on its official site: he doesn't want to hear from the fans. "I'm sorry to say this, all the science fiction producers making stuff in America, they are way too engaged with their fandom. They all need to step back." [Los Angeles Times]

In Doctor Who Universe, MILFs are Hotter Than Bisexual Studs
Tomorrow night sees the start of Torchwood's second season on BBC America. But the U.S. hasn't yet gotten the best spin-off from the BBC's Doctor Who: the Sarah Jane Adventures. Even though Torchwood is (supposedly) aimed at adults and Sarah Jane is for kids, the kiddie show is actually way more fun and brilliant. Click through for four reasons why. More »

Kansas Towns Slaughter Each Other In Nuclear Fallout This Spring
The apocalypse came to a small town, and nobody noticed. But that could change this spring. CBS' nuclear apocalypse drama Jericho barely escaped out-and-out cancellation thanks to a mail-in campaign involving bags of nuts. And this spring, it may be the only game in town, thanks to the writers' strike.Jericho season one started off blah but ended strong the nearby town of New Bern turned fascist and massed a small army to march against the people of Jericho, KS. Carnage in the cornfields!
CBS has seven episodes of Jericho in the can and plans to air them as a mid-season replacement. Those seven weeks could be enough to kindle a new interest, since every other channel will show reality fare like Farmer Wants A Wife. Two more shows that could gain from the strike after the jump.
