Can you really have evil people in Fringe? The story is about two universes trying to prevent their own side from being destroyed. It's not exactly a villainous cause. #lost
@mekki: Well said.... but I've always thought that someONE has caused this war, and that is what defines the evil, even though both sides view each other as an evil oponent.
Everything boils down to Walter.
WalterP(rime) stole WalterO(ther)U(niverse)'s son, and WalterOU is obviously pissed, so he starts a war to destroy WalterP's universe in order to get his son back.
right?
Kinda messes with the audience and I like it. #lost
@Tomb: R.O.A.C.H.: They probably cost so much for those first couple Who episodes the BBC wants them to keep using them, to get their money's worth. #lost
@Alasdair5000: Well, you know those suits were expensive...gotta get your money's worth! (which is actually pretty much in line with classic Who tradition) #lost
@smirkette: Oh absolutely, and fair play to them:) Reminds me of playing spot the Mobile Infantry uniforms in most low to mid budget SF done over the last ten years:) #lost
"John Cusack says this isn't a disaster movie, it's an apocalypse movie" Oh thank god. Now I can try to find some interest in this movie. Heeeey.... waitaminute... #lost
I'm walking away from Flashforward. The pace is terrible and feels like the writers have no idea where this is supposed to be going. (Could it be they're holding back a few things in case they get canceled and have to cobble together a sort-of finale?)
And I still can't remember what their names are - I still refer to them as "post-drunk FBI", "slutty but probably not a bad person babysitter" etc.
Even with last episode's "thing" I find I just don't care.
And while I'm ranting - why didn't Fox give $$$ to Whedon to bridge Dollhouse into post-apocalyptic Dollhouse. If the show had been like that mythic episode, I'd be there every freakin' week. #lost
@Tyrunn: But that's decades in TV years. Here's the deal, keeping audience interest for that long is almost impossible unless you draw them in with character development, myth. Without that, many people would do what I'd do: wait out the 3 years elsewhere and watch only the last 4/5 episodes. Do I want three years of an ex-drunk FBI agent who who picks fights with his wife, rightfully gets put in his place and whines and cries? No thanks.
Simply revealing bits and pieces of a story over three seasons won't make them any friends. It's like having a friend who tells long-winded tales that go on forever; after a while you say "Oh for Zod's sake get to the point!"
BSG (which I liked) pulled and Lost (which I don't) is pulling this off because the writers supply interesting characters whose actions drove the plot forward. Yes, there's a long wait for the big reveal and some don't like it (A*G*LS? Really?) but they're keeping people engaged.
More often than not, the characters on Flashforward are acting like a Greek Chorus -- constantly explaining what we're seeing. They've been doing a bad job at that as they often just belabour points or restate what we can easily see for ourselves. (During the last episode I decided the junior FBI agent should be awarded a Masters in Obviousness from Redundancy Univ. until, well, the end.) #lost
@Julius Seizure - Canuck: I fell asleep during last week's episode and woke up in time to find a character actually making something happen that wasn't eye-gougingly annoyingly arch. And then he was dead.
And the overuse of the Ally McBeal stalwart montage of long shots on sombre characters set to music is making me focus on things like, "Huh. Joseph Fiennes and Alex Kingston are ex in-laws. Is that weird for them?" instead of, y'know, the "plot." #lost
@mosquitosBuzzz: You've stuck with it this long, you might as well ride it out. With all the talk of this being the last season, don't you want to see how it ends? #lost
Anyone noticed the part when the Trickster said something to the Doctor that sounded like he knew that he's going to die.
I forgot the words. #doctorwho
@PostMarque: Trickster:I know the legend of The doctor...the man of ice and fire, who walked among gods, once held the key to time in his hands.. Now, he is surrounded by children...
who are you.? the man who has lost everything and dares to speak to me of lonelyness..
...and the gate is waiting for you...
"...the Doctor is fire and ice and chocolate and nougat and so on."
Ooh that's quite good. I might use that. :)
I quite like how, after a moment to absorb the awesomeness that is the Doctor, they took the situation in hand as equals rather than 'kids', tho Rani was a bit underwritten. The Doctor did not underestimate them, unlike the Trickster. #doctorwho

seriously it is this Doctor's catch phrase. That and, the whole "hello, who/what are you". But the whole, "i'm so sorry", is always so well played.
