I like how you make an unconnected dig at Dollhouse and Joss at the end of an article about Sarah being pregnant. Well done! Not many bloggers would stoop that low.
@ZenithPuzzle: Really? Sounded more like "since Dollhouse is probably canceled, we hope Joss makes something NEW and exciting rather than going back to his old stuff."
dollhouse certainly didn't turn out the way i wanted. i wanted yet another medicore whedon offering's failure to demonstrate to whedonites once again that he's not the mesiah, born of a virga nerdling, suffered under agents of fox's empire. He's just another writter with some good ideas and some not so good ideas that fox continues to fund.
@tetracycloide: I don't care whether you like it or not - I don't post on threads telling you whether or not I accept your choice of entertainment. Maybe you could extend the same courtesy.
@icy_one: My elite reading comprehension skills have led me to deduce that he has accepted Dollhouse is good despite skepticism early on. You, are sadly mistaken, have a ice day.
@icy_one: you're a remarkably ironic hypocrite. it's ironic that you'd equate a statement of opinion that differs with yours to a pity party for myself when whedon fans are all over this site throwing pity parties for dollhouse when the opinions of fox and the neilsen ratings differ from theirs. it's hypocritical to suggest you've never voiced a negative opinion about anything in a comment section when even a cursory glance at your comment history would reveal otherwise. you post in threads telling people whether or not you accept their choice of entertainment all the time. every here does and as well they should for that's the point of the site, to voice opinions about entertainment.
me thinks he doth project too much.
@ggodo: no, i don't like dollhouse very much and have maintained that position even while the show has improved because i still find it quite wanting.
@tetracycloide: I never attack a person for their choice of entertainment, although I will freely attack a show for lack of quality. Note the difference between "Dollhouse is a terrible show" and your comment. If you don't like it, cool, different strokes for different folks. But when you cross the line to "people who watch Dollhouse are delusional," well..
By the way, please feel free to provide your results from going through my comment history where I attacked fans of a show. Less $10 words and phrases and more coherent arguments, thanks.
@icy_one: note the difference between 'people who watch dollhouse are delusional' and my comment, 'people who think joss whedon is the messiah are delusion.' also, yet more irony! my post was the OP, yours was the RE so you attacked me, not the other way around. continue railing against the blackness of pots mr. kettle, it amuses me.
@tetracycloide: You win. I made the mistake of reading this:
"i wanted yet another medicore whedon offering's failure to demonstrate to whedonites once again that he's not the mesiah, born of a virga nerdling, suffered under agents of fox's empire. He's just another writter with some good ideas and some not so good ideas that fox continues to fund."
and seeing you attack Whedon's fans. I should have realized you were in fact praising his fans and their mental clarity. It will never happen again, sir, please forgive me!
@icy_one: it's an indictment of hubris, nothing more. it points out that now that dollhouse hasn't been up to par for several weeks individuals that assumed it would be perfect from the start should step back and reexamine their positions before taking that position at the start of the next whedon project. the fact that we're even having this conversation after the suggestion that whedon is hit-or-miss and/or ordinary proves my point better than i ever could.
@tetracycloide: I didn't expect it to be perfect from the start. I didn't expect it to be perfect. I expected it to be entertaining and it has been. I don't regret watching it and I don't regret telling other people they should watch it.
The fact that we're having this conversation is proof that you paint people with a broad brush, and nothing more. My reply isn't a defense of Dollhouse and was never meant to be. My reply is to tell you to stop telling other people what to like. Your first post reads as follows:
"Dollhouse isn't what I expected, because I expected it to open the eyes of people who like Joss Whedon's work that he's a hack and that they are foolish for liking it."
You might not have meant it that way, but that's how you came across. That attitude is piss poor and borders on trolling. I don't expect an apology or a correction - I doubt I'd hear its delivery from atop that very large equine.
@icy_one: the attitude i might not have meant that you read into my post by paraphasing the original with words and phrases that differ broadly from thos in the original borders on trolling? how could i have been so thoughtless as to assume that someone would actually read what i wrote instead of embracing the straw man they've concocted?
I'm actually rewatching the series with my Buffy Virgin bf right now. They pretty much got all the important scenes down. Looking at it all lumped together like that really shows you just how much that show evolved over the years.
Wonder how long it took to make this and how - lots of fast-forward time manip, very cool. My only reservation is I wish it had been synced to actual Buffy music (like an extended version of the theme melded with more of the soundtrack) instead of "William Tell Overture".

Besides, Dushku >> SMG.
And that's still not saying very much.
