I simply have to know what 11 is from... sexy bug lady riding a fancy-harnessed rooster? awesome. also, story content from numbers 1, 7, 12 intrigue me.
@spiritkittykat: yeah, and it looks to be a pretty direct play for play remake. it looks cool... in any case it's worth a shot in my book, gladiators and barbarians are pretty great. even David Carradine agrees:
@spiritkittykat: i too also find myself in agreeable agreement with your agreeal. if one thing is sure to be improved, it will be the pacing, which i have always found sluggish in the original. Which is unfortunate, as i always fall asleep before the wicked Leviathan part (my life is nothing but pain).
Wow, it's 30 years since I went to an SF convention, and I never able to figure out what Freff did. Never heard another name for the guy either. Glad to see that the guy thinks he has a real job. What does his hair look like now? He always had some wild hair, even for the late 1970s
@Klappstuhl: A very awesome owl indeed. More Dean logos at the man's site, and my gosh, on the game connection, "Hypnotherapy" looks like Marathon... which would come years later.
My Grandmother, of all people, had an original when I was younger. I have no idea how or where or why she acquired it (she liked religious music and Hee-Haw). It was pretty typical - floating/fractured space islands but I was surprised by how large it was. Anyhow she willed it to my cousin on my dad's side who sold it pretty much immediately. Bah! I don't know if it was valuable (it wasn't an original of any album cover or even mag cover as far as I know) but I wanted it pretty bad.......
You know James Cameron spent the better part of the early 1970s sitting around his bedroom seeding his herb using Yes albums perched in his lap.
If he used Frank Zappa albums, we might have a different filmmaker today.

Achilleos also painted the famous image of the woman astride the bat-thing on the Heavy Metal poster.

Imagine what we could have now if things were different.
