If you're into this sort of thing (and I am), never pass up an opportunity to hear film or television score music performed by a live orchestra (I don't).
The Colorado Symphony Orchestra does some film music every season as part of their Pops schedule. And just last Sunday Mrs. Overclock (etc.) and I saw the "Star Wars Orchestra" perform selections from Williams' scores from all six films.
If anyone goes to hear this, a review would be much appreciated. #television
@Chip Overclock: Evil Tortie's Dad and I went to a very memorable evening at the symphony in Denver as they were led in John Williams' scores by the maestro himself. Worth every penny. #television
If we're going to mention Muse, we can go back in time a bit and mention Knights of Cydonia. I mean, motorbike riding lasergun firing kung-fu using space cowboys? It may be a parody of a cheesy 70s movie, but it shows that this trend is not new.
But I'm glad the article is here, since it shows that the trend continues. And hopefully it will go on for a very long time.
I normally don't come to this blog for musical leads, but THANK YOU for turning me onto Empire of the Sun! Swordfish girls + synthpop = WIN. And even though I'd seen the Faint and MGMT videos a while back, it's good to be reminded of them. Particularly "Kids." Any video about terrorizing children and scarring them for life by exposing them to weird mutant figures is golden in my book.
