There's an inspired meta element to Fox's casting: like Jennifer, Megan is a gorgeous creature given to glib Cody-esque pronouncements (she told British GQ in July, "Really my only job is to look attractive.")
io9 readers have talked about the "horror of the female" in previous posts--the sexual woman as predator, for one--but I'm interested, too, in how Megan's self-aware quips might also be a source of anxiety both in real life and in "Jennifer's Body"; in the movie's trailers, Jennifer's unrepentant sarcasm is part of her violence.
And it looks like her words inspire discomfort in real life, too: there's an entire website called "The Megan Fox Soundboard" that edits down her soundbites into heavy breathing quotes like, "It's so hard" and "Something's gonna explode": [coedmagazine.com]
Hahahaha nice one there. This actually seems like a really fantastic movie, but it might suck...I guess we'll have to see.
I mean Megan Fox is perfect for the role...even if she's not a great actress.
I hate hate hate hate hate Juno (and just one hate for United States of Tara), but I'm actually looking forward to this and if it's any good, I may, just may be willing to give Diablo Cody a pass.
This is a woman who does love Herschell Gordon Lewis (although I was quite offended by its inclusion in Juno. Did I mention how much I hate that movie?), so maybe she was meant for the genre.
The Megan Fox casting is perfect too, since she elicits knee-jerk sexual comments from all adolescent boys (and a lot of men, too) that come into contact with her (see below comments). The monstrous female indeed. I hope, however, the women are a bit more well-rounded and awesome than they were in Juno.
@nozer: You and I may be the only two people on the planet who despised Juno with a burning passion. Horrendous movie for too many reasons to set forth here. UGH.
@nonpareil: it would be easier to share your opinions if one or the other of you would enunciate an actual reason instead of just making quips about how there's to many to list even one. if there are so many listing them shouldn't be hard and i'm sure we'll forgive an abriged list if it means rational discourse about the film. me personally? i found the music hard to stomach. it's just people without much talent or skill jamming, if i wanted to listen to that i'd hit up the music room at the local high school during lunch breaks.
@nozer: megan fox is talantless hack , only thing she could do is scream , even that sucks . Hollywood needs more real actresses , Let`s ths piece of crap make over 100 million like Juno did.
What I’m choosing to take away from this video is that we have a problem we can stop before it starts. Lets get those some-to-be maniacal mechanical monsters before they get us! Smokers versus non-smokers; the line is drawn here.
Oh, ha ha, very funny. Look, I can appreciate an attempt at humor as much as the next sentient, but this kind of anti-robot propaganda has got to stop! It's divisive, it's mean, and it only propagates hateful anti-robot stereotypes. Frankly, I'm surprised to see this kind of thing on a site that's normally quite pro-robot.

@Nozer: I don't really get why you hate Juno, but I have to agree with the Megan Fox reaction. It's quite annoying.
