    @Alessar: Ha! So now Syfy's "original programming" doesn't just consist of adaptations and remakes, but remakes of adaptations they did 6 years ago. Great! It's like watching a snake eat itself. Only, not as entertaining most of the time.

    @twophrasebark: That was totally just Internet fanwank. RDM wouldn't have done that. I mean, to even try to get away with that, he'd have to walk into the writers' meeting and say, "The show's not about the plot, it's about the characters."

    @twophrasebark: Apparently, there was also some Plan to have the survivors throw all their technology into the Sun. I'm glad that never made it to the finale, for that would have been STUPID.

    @Jeyl: Usually it's the male characters dying heroically (or not so heroically) in battle, not not the other way around. BSG did it differently and accusing them of sexism in a roundabout way after a long run of the series creating some very strong and independent female characters I think isn't fair or accurate at all.

    @Jeyl: I don't remember there being a great deal many more female deaths than male. I don't say this as a challenge - I'd just like to see a list. I really just don't remember.

    This video just significantly improved my long night of lab report writing. There's just something in him that brings out my inner teenage girl (lucky I'm in the library or there might have been a "squeee!").

    And now I need to buy Riverworld. io9 has not been helping my tower of unread books diminish (not that that's really a problem).

    @RandomFrequentFlierDent: You're not the only one - I have ever-growing lists that the every-second-month pilgrimages to Powells in Portland are doing little to diminish. The "next on my reading list" stack beside my bed is, no exaggeration, 15 books tall. That doesn't include all the ones in the book room, at work, in the office...

    Man, once Bobby's eyes glazed over in tonight's episode I felt my heart sink and a pain in my gut like I'd just been kicked. My favorite character on my favorite show.

    I really like the idea that Beaver's up for messing with his fans and stringing them along. The man puts the show first and knows that spoilers are aptly named.
