    @edosan: Authority is a lot more action based, but it's still a highly intelligent take on the genre. I'd recommend giving it a go personally.

    I freaking loooove King City! And have been crossing every appendage on my body hoping for a volume 2. I think he's got enough material out there that it's not unreasonable to expect, right?

    Another title I was pissed never made it to volume 2 was Last Call by Vasilis Lolos. Damn.

    @alphanumeric1971: @Grey_Area: I consider an "actioneer" to be a person who produces action, much like an "auctioneer" produces, or at leasts hosts, an auction. Therefore, the sentence correctly should read, "This week's issue of Gail Simone's supervillain action keeps up...." This is a new usage of the word "action," narrowly defined thus: action, n. That which is produced by an actioneer.


    The actioneer, of course, is Gail Simone herself.


    In summary, the sentence as originally posted makes no sense. This comment makes perfect sense.

    @Frisky Unicorns: The comic is an "actioner" in Variety-speak, like they used to call Westerns "oaters" (from what the horses ate) and mysteries are "puzzlers". So the post is correct and alpha got it backwards.


    Hint: (blank)-eer is a person who (blanks). Auctioneer, Rocketeer...

    Secret Six has been great since it started out in 'Villains United'. It's ultra violent and bloody and the Secret Six are usually the ones on the wrong end of a big beat down. But they always manage to crawl away and start over. Good Stuff.
