It would be so much cooler if Atlantis wasn't cloaked. Then again, I think they're saving the "world finds out about the Stargate program" thing for something huge. Maybe in a movie or something?
"Like a group of Austrian brothers and sisters tired from a long night, the SGA crew assembles on the balcony overlooking a world unaware of just how close it came to being Wraith slaves."
Where the hell does this reference come from? Just asking :)
Of course, I didn't watch this yet. I have it chilling on my computer. But I just HAD to click on the link here. :( Meh. That's okay. I wasn't expecting it to be all that great. After all, SG-1's last episode wasn't that great. But I am looking forward to the SGA movies. the Continuum movie brought back everything that was awesome in SG-1, so I'm hoping an SGA movie will have something like that.
I heard they didn't have enough notice about the cancelation in order to prepare for a really big finale.
Personally, I've heard some people say Vegas should have been the finale and I think they might have been an interesting way to go. Just add a few minutes from the last episode and that could lead into a kickass movie.
I don't know where you'd go in a DVD movie now that Atlantis is Earth bound.
My only disappointment is that they land in San Fran Bay, and no one notices because of the cloak. I would have loved to see Universe begin on the fallout of the public seeing a giant city flying through the sky, then landing in a very public place.
@grime: Really a lot of venon? I think I highlighted both the bad and the good and there were handfuls of it both. All in all I was truly sad to see it go, just wanted it to leave with a better bang.
It's pretty much acknowledged that McKay is the best character on SGA but the second best character in my opinion is Todd the Wraith. He's got some of the best lines and he's kick ass too. The episode where he singlehandedly takes down the crew of the Daedelus when he thinks they've betrayed him was awesome. The SGA team held it against him but I think he was completely justified in his actions. The best episodes this season were ones that had Todd the Wraith. It's too bad that they add this great character to the show only to have it end.

Maybe an SGA movie will be a better series-ender but I'm not holding my breath.
Pick up The Ark of Truth DVD for some genuine Stargate goodness.

Rodney becomes Obama's science advisor.
Sheppard joins the Las Vegas PD.
Teyla Emmagan returned to be with the Athosians and no one cared.
Woolsey became a blogger.

It's Stargate... don't think too hard about it.

Plus, do you know hard it is to get an apartment in SF Atlantis would add a lot of real estate.

fans understand it's flaws. it's like slagging BSG for being too dark an depressing: obvious and misguided.
the worst part for me is that i love where it left off: a giant alien city sitting, invisible off SF bay, so many good stories could spin out of that!
my favorite part: when the team over hears sheppard talking about nuking the hive they're on!
