I find it occassionally frustrating that the relationship of older two leads (Kyle and his test tube sister, Jessi, with the tedious triangle of what's her name) is played with forced and laboured soap-opera-esque histrionics while the supporting pair (Josh and Andi) demonstrate both raging hormones and keen perceptiveness, self-awareness and intelligence. Which is something of a miracle. What a notion: young people having both brains and bodies and using them both responsibly. And intelligence not being a curse or embarassment.
@corvus.imbrifer: Yeah, it's really true.... the Josh/Andy relationship is way cooler and more watchable than either of Kyle's big romantic relationships. And I would not be sad if Amanda got on a bus and disappeared forever.
@it must be bunnies: the only reference I can find is for CityTV...no idea what that means across the country...for me it means about a 1/2 block away...
I've seen the first season and it IS a good show...the heartwarming and family values stuff does get in the way occasionally but it's well done and not insulting - so it's very forgivable...
@twDarkflame: Painkiller Jane is one that used it REALLY badly...reading posts and comments here I grabbed the DVDs and started watching...liked the premise but the VO was painful.

I may have to add it to my DVD wish list.

is there still a voice over in the second season?
is there ANY show that can pull that off?

Its not as akward as Heroes, or as irrating as Pushing Diasys, but Id still label it as unnesscery.
I'm sure there has been shows that have used it right though.
