Oh, whoops. Right. Satan is a non-godlike being who can thwart, uh... 'deities.'
Can we have an ending that isn't just a bait 'n' switch?
Civil War - Sudden ending without resolution, Tony Stark is now just in charge of S.H.I.E.L.D. in a few pages.
World War Hulk - Meh. Hulk gives up after a brutal fight. (See also: Captain America in Civil War).
Secret Invasion - A whole lot of nothing with a sudden ending and Norman Osborne suddenly in control of S.H.... whoops, H.A.M.M.E.R.
C'mon, now.
I quit reading comics because of this crap, and not in the "I hate you so much, I'm going to tell everyone to stop reading but still buy copies" way. (See also: Heroes on NBC). I just stopped. No protest. No plan. Just couldn't get myself to buy another issue.
It's just... y'know, I defended Marvel because a lot of this stuff is/was entertaining, but someone has to get Bendis the fuck away from a keyboard.
@Belabras ate my dingo!: I'm in agreement. I just hesitate to write off the Beyonder as we have an anniversary year of the Secret Wars series coming soon.
Can they use this to explain the idiocy of Civil War too? Why else would Captain America think punching out SHIELD agents would get a bad law changed unless the devil was messing with his mind?
@AngriestGeek: Civil War was a very good, multi-layered tale. Both sides were right and both sides were wrong. I didn't see any problem with it. I wouldn't call it an idiocy at all
@collex: It was contrived crap. A seasoned team makes a rookie mistake that strangely doesn't happen in the densely populated city where 99.9 percent of all superhero fights occurs while the most libertarian hero (who twice wiped the minds of his friend to keep his identity secret) suddenly becomes part of the government whereas the most law-abiding hero (who twice quit rather than fight his government) decides that fighting in the streets is how you get a law changed.

And here I was, all nice and moderately excited for Siege. If this is true...blech.
Leave the religious-mythological themes to DC, guys. They do it way better.
