Whether you've just run into a radioactive space mutant or fallen into a pool of flesh-eating gases, a solid scream is a handy tool for any space horror arsenal. Check out our video tribute to gasps, shrieks, and bloodcurdling screams.

This is by no means comprehensive (there are more space monster movies, not mention many of the companions on Doctor Who were real screamers), and it's not all horror, but we have a nice sampling of folks screaming aboard spaceships, on alien worlds, and in the cold of space.

New Pandorum concept art shows a dark, time-worn spaceship command center, with rusty bulkheads and a cool-looking holographic user interface surrounding the captain's chair. And click through to see another piece of concept art, showing the inevitable service crawlway.

Four pieces of Pandorum concept art showed up over at DVD-Forum. This film is definitely looking like a lot of thought went into the designs, and it's a nice departure from the way-too-shiny Enterprise we saw earlier this summer. You can see the rest at the link. [DVD Forum via Dread Central]

The Dead Space Trailer So Scary It's Banned

Electronic Arts recently debuted the "Lullaby" trailer for upcoming space-horror video game Dead Space. It's creepy and gory, but did it deserve bannination? Check out this teaser trailer that's intended "for mature audiences only."

According to Ars Technica, after seeing this trailer at E3, the press was notified that the ESRB refused to approve the trailer, so it couldn't be released in the U.S. Why this means anything at all with a form of media intended to be released online is anyone's guess, but it sure won't hurt the marketing buzz. Dead Space is the tale of a mining operation that cracks open an alien planet looking for materials . . . and finds something they didn't bargain for.
