Must See: Star Trek

Only cursory mention of "Spock's half-breed interference" without providing the slightest indication of contex has me thinking you have some deal with the publisher to sell books or that you simply don't know enough about it to engage in any sort of meaningful conversation.

All that I am intimately familiar with in my knowledge of the original Star Trek series gave me the sense that something was amiss.
The term "half-breed interference" that which Spock was spoken down to, was never meant to convey the slightest sense in connoting racist, prejudicial overtones.
Captain Kirk, Nurse Chapel, Gene Roddenberry's actress wife, beamed down to the planet when after five years having finally located Nurse Chapel's long lost scientist fiance, Dr. Roger Corby.
But while Kirk was kept prisoner, Dr Corby successfully replaced Captain's Kirk with a perfect robot-android duplicate, his plan to beam the robotic Kirk back to the orbiting ship with no one the wiser and carry out all sorts of nefarious deeds, Dr. Corby having wildly succeeded except for one bit of inspired thinking by
the real Captain.
Captain Kirk knew his only chance at uncovering the plot was to somehow send Mr.Spock a message that something was amiss, that the Captain who returned from the planet was not the real Captain that the real captain was kept captive down on the planet below and that the one posing to be Captain Kirk was merely a robot.
At the very moment the duplication process would be completed with transfer of mental, brain function
at the very last moment, Kirk intensely, repeated the phrase "I'm sick of your half-breed interference, do you hear many numerous times just as the process was complete, Kirk hoping that in some intense moment,
the subliminal message planted in the robot's brain
might trigger the robot-Kirk to repeat the phrase
I'm sick of your half-breed interference, Spock, do you hear? Again I don't see any indication of it being racist, xenophobic, just simply some strange, off-putting, manner of speech, the robot might convey
without being aware yet something unusual enough to let
Spock know something was wrong, of which was accomplished and having Kirk single-handily save the universe once again from utter destruction.!

I'm heard rumors of an issue that addressed this, but I've yet to find it. Any clues?

Dagwood and the rest of the Super Soldiers (GELFs?) from SeaQuest DSV
The Star Bellied Sneetches as told by Dr. Seuss.
Grover and his own self hate, fear and loathing of Muppets in There's a Monster at the End of this book.

@kasviel: They cover that in later books. Apparently the robots killed them all off to protect humanity, or something. I forget.

I wondered why "Hey, sexy mama, wanna kill all humans?" wasn't getting me the action I had hoped.

Also, in Timothy Zhan's book The Icarus Hunt, Brother John did not like aliens, unless the aliens had some economic ties with the organization he worked for, in which case he still didn't like them all that much but he didn't hate them as much as he did normal aliens. Also there is a universal dislike for the Patth due to the fact that they pretty much run trade in the universe, thanks to their star drive which they won't give to anyone else because they want to keep their stranglehold on the economies of all species. Oh, and if the Patth decide to put an embargo on any one race then that race is pretty much fucked.

Now, for some reason, you've got me thinking of Oreos with Spam in the middle instead of white frosting. Gross.

George wasn't human, he was Tenkonese. I think you meant Matt, who starts out by using "slag" occasionally, but eventually falls in love with his alien next door neighbor.

I loved Alien Nation, it was one of my favorite shows of all time, and it has a lot of resonance now. It was written talking about civil rights and African-Americans, but now the way it speaks to anti-immigration debates and prejudice against hispanics...pretty eerie. Like the best science fiction.

Couldn't remember Matt's name. But yes, he did start out very opposed to being assigned a "slag" partner him, but eventually becomes very close to his partner George's family and falls in love with an alien woman.

But the "they took our jerbs" sentiment against the Tenctonese was basically anti-Mexican-derived; they were "illegal aliens", after all.
