@Gemini2: I've seen worse. But Cung Le got robbed. I thought the idea of two characters who had no idea what the other was saying while running around a space ship was almost the most interesting part of the movie.

Okay, not actually a space horror, but the little girl from Jurassic Park could scream like nobody's business. That scene where Dr. Grant pries her out of the car and she just lets one go? I'm surprised she was never able to move into slasher films. Kid could have been the next Jamie Lee Curtis. #spacescreams
Any Wilhelm scream
Veronica Cartwright from "Alien"
The friendly aliens from "Galaxy Quest"
Donald Sutherland from "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" #spacescreams
@Dr Emilio Lizardo: I deliberately avoided Wilhems, but that's Veronica Cartwright screaming in the very first clip. Galaxy Quest is a good one, but I avoided stuff like Body Snatchers because it takes place on Earth. #spacescreams
@Dr Emilio Lizardo: That was Veronica at the beginning. Or was there a different scream from her you wanted? And does Mrs. Dr. Lizardo know about this? #spacescreams
@Lauren Davis: I kind of thought it was, I watched it three times and couldn't figure it out, but now I see it is. The one I was thinking of was from the chest bursting scene. #spacescreams

As long as they put the bridge in the center of the ship and not sticking out somewhere in a vulnerable location like all versions of the USS Enterprise.
@ManchuCandidate: Yes! Put the vital sections deep inside, reaction mass on the outside, and for corn's sake Ethel, have all the engine stuff what can make your 'nads drop off waaay at the end.
@ManchuCandidate: Let's be fair - the bridge on every ship design since ancient times put it somewhere ridiculously vulnerable.
The original reason I imagine had to do with the commanders needing..well..a commanding view of both the sea, their surroundings, and their subordinates. Not applicable to a starship, I adimt, but you know what they say about old habits.
@ManchuCandidate: Yes! Too many people are trying to be dark and edgy like Battlestar when what they should take from Battlestar is the good designs. CIC in the middle of the ship. Ships take more fuel in atmo. Battles in three dimensions. Fewer freakin' windows.
After the disappointment and bombast that was Wolvie, T4 and TF2, I'm thinking these smaller films like this, Moon, and District9 will be the best sci-fi of the year. Only Star Trek will make it from the blockbusters.
Looks nice, but this design has the same fault every other SF bridge has - they emulate maritime bridges when they should be looking at airplane cockpits. I'd like to see heavy acceleration couches with seat belts. I mean, you know at some point the ship is gong to shake, sparks will fly from every console, and everyone on the bridge will be thrown across the room. Why not plan ahead?
@Michael_GR: That's a really interesting point - I've seen a number of sci-fi bridges that take the cockpit approach, but I think people just gravitate to the naval approach because it's so much more regal; it gives the perception of strategy, skill, and simmering drama as opposed to the tactics, action, and fast-paced energy of a cockpit. :)

Not that I want to start anything, but I loved the bridge of the NX-01 Enterprise. It looked practical, accessible, and cool.
