Yeah, Locke probably does have it roughest of anyone on that show. But I don't think real Locke has had his last moment. My personal theory is that real-Locke really is "special" in the end, and that's what Esau didn't count on. It's not just anybody he's taken over: it's John Locke. And maybe there's a bit of real-Locke inside him, or something. (Yes, that's inspired 100% by the end of Harry Potter.)

@OrvaThemis: Actualy, I thinks that fairly common. The idea of A overtaking B, but B having something left that comes out at just the right moment.
Normaly it happens a few scenes after someone says "theres nothing at all left of blah blah in blah".

Wasn't there an episode in Space 1999 where the Moon was destroyed and the only one left was Barbra Bain and the super beings on the planet she was stranded on recreated the whole Moon and everyone on it but just in Barbra's head? Then the next season started with new characters and different sets?
    Am I remembering it correctly?

@AldaTithonus: CJA said the article's not covering people with bit parts who get a big role later. Otherwise we'd have to toss in Freema Agyma as well as she played a tech at Torchwood and then later played Martha Jones. It was such a recent thing they had to lampshade it by her mentioning a cousin who worked at the Canary Wharf building.

Do you suppose animated examples count? The second Lockon Stratos on 'Gundam 00' was an identical twin brother to the first -- and presumably had the same voice actor.

@CarrerCrytharis: I guess not since we're talking about live-action actors here. And anyway, plenty of seiyuus play other characters (across anime series), if we included them this list would be too long.

Fred was plenty likeable, but it wasn't until Illyria took over that I realized how well Amy Acker could act. (I'm loving that Dollhouse has given her an opportunity to show more of her range; she's incredible.) Up til the final season of Angel, I just thought the actress was naturally dorky-sweet. I actually found the character of Fred a little saccharine at the time, but it's easier to appreciate her now, after seeing the contrast of where she ends up.

@kmeisner: I agree. It was a HUGE shock when Ilyria imitated Fred for her parents. It was then I realized that she was no different than a vampire on the show: demonic soul + human body and memories = fusion. As much as I originally thought they were killing the character I realized then that it was pretty much just a powerup. I mean, look how well it worked out for Harmony!

C-Jane, I completely forgot to pass this along when I read it, but Esquire Magazine, of all things, had what can only be described as a little love letter to Garret Dillahunt is a recent issue:

    Figured you might be interested.

@Chip Overclock: Thanks for that. Nice that he's appreciated.
But it was noticeable that his biggest (multiple characters) and longest (2 years) role ever, didn't get the slightest mention.
Is Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (and Science Fiction in general) completely unmentionable in an 'adult' men's magazine?
I can't imagine the writer didn't think it worthy of a mention, so the editor must have deleted it. WTF?

@SJ_Edwards: You gotta wonder. But in a recent issue they had a list of new television shows that might be worth checking out, and FAST FORWARD was listed. So... ??? Dunno.

But I don't subscribe to ESQUIRE for the science fiction. (Nor for the emo male models either, which get tiresome not just because I know I'll never fit into any of their clothes.)
