Sure, that works if they were using the Greek system. I spent long nights trying to unravel the 12 cylon models as the 12 human personality archetypes posited by Jung. No simple and easy task, I tell you. Each archetype aligns with at least 2 models, with the exception of Six, who has just GOT to be the Lover.
The final cylon got left behind accidentally on Caprica after the war. He was heading for the Galactica as part of The Plan and then he remembered he forgot his, um, allergy medicine and went back to his apartment. Yeah. So anyway, he missed his ride.
So like it's all one big misunderstanding. Really. He was going to explain the whole thing to everyone in episode 3 of the first season.
Anyway, I don't know where he is now but he left a message on his answering machine explaining everything and how to avoid "this all happening again." You can reach him at CYLON-75.
The problem with the "It's all a cycle and this all happened in our past" theories, to my mind, is how do you explain, like, fossils and geological evidence of evolution and so forth?
Maybe some of the theories get into that? I haven't read them very closely.
I've actually thought alot about that last theory. The whole series has been about allegory and role reversal of the current american political-religious situation, I figured it all started with us, on earth then a diaspora, then the cylons invented, then people com back to earth. A destroyed earth fits in perfectly and the whole circular nature is covered by "all this has happened before, and will happen again."
There are a lot of ways you can go with the details, but I think this is where we are heading.
@DrEmilioLizardo: It definitely sounds plausible. They'll have to execute it very, very well for it not to be a let-down, 'cause the transcendental-cyclical thing has become a bit of a trope, and for better or worse, audiences expect Awesome Surprises these days.
I want the whole cast altogether, speculating who it is. Then as the episode closes, Adama looks to the camera and goes... "The final cylon... is YOU!"
@Davio: I fear there are people who beat both of us to it. But I do like your execution better than mine, as long as Adama also smiles and gives the camera big thumbs-up. :-)
You know, I was going to make some comment like "What is this Jezebel? Maybe they're trying to make some comment about her anonymity or personality by cutting out her eyes, or about her military status by focusing on her dog-tags. It's not always about selling sex!"
But with that triangular composition set up by the negative space and the heavy dark colors at the bottom, I'd be damned if my eyes didn't roll down to her norks like apples thrown down a long steep hill.
@tetracycloide: Plenty of gay men have sex with women after the come out; plenty of gay women have sex with men after they come out; plenty of straight people have sex with they're own sex. The lesson? People just really dig coming.
Wow, way to commit to a gay character there, Battlestar. You're so courageous to have a gay relationship that's completely undermined by your character only being half-gay. I call bullshit.
@themidnighter: Being bisexual isn't being "half-gay", it's being bisexual. In many ways it's even more marginalizing than being gay, because you face both prejudice and dehumanizing fetishization from the straight and gay communities. I also don't remember seeing a positive portrayal of a bisexual person on television, ever, so this is potentially pretty great from that perspective.
@themidnighter: can you explain further? i do not understand completely how having a bi character instead of a completely gay character undermines anything.

ok, we have sraight and bisexual characters that are being portrayed in a positive light....
Now maybe we can get a Trysexual... you know "He'll try anything, chickens, sheep, aliens...."
lol
Why do TV and movies have to make a statement, why can't it just be good entertainment?
