I am the writer of Telepathy (and Ghostwatch). Just to point out Lesley Manning is female, so the "he" in your write-up should read "she". Thanks for your interest in our project!! - Stephen Volk
Black Lightning looks cool!! Its like Spiderman with cars!
Thank god for films like Nightwatch and Daywatch. Russian films rock!
Anyone got any news on Duskwatch?? I heard Tarrrantino (the guy who originally pushed for the western releases), was bringing the whole production team and cast over to Hollywood for the third and final instalment. I hope thats the case.....the effects already rocked. Just dont let Lucas get hold of it!
@CoffinDodger (If the typos crap. Blame my keyboard): That's the rumor. It's also supposed to be shot entirely in English this time, which is kinda sad. I liked the way the subtitles were integrated into the movie in Night Watch.
@einsteinsquandry: Its a small price to pay. Films of the magnitude I tend to watch dubbed anyway because I cant read and focus on the cool stuff at the same time. As long as it doesnt forget its original roots.....im happy.
IEP is about the creepiest thing I've ever seen. People who call that "adorable" must be the same people who go to little girl beauty pageants and buy those nasty uncanny valley type baby dolls.
Telepathy looks like a book I read, not the Heinlein one. Really want to see it. The Russians have been putting out some stellar Sci-fi recently, or at least recently in that I have been hearing more about them.
@Bigdamnhero: I've seen this. It came out on BD ages ago in the UK. Bret's hardly in it, Rhys Darby is in the opening/closing sequence and Jemaine hardly has anything to do.
Its just being sold on them making cameos and they're not even principal characters. Its really about a teacher who likes to shag students.
@shaunmcilroy: Definitely the plot to this movie. Oh and there are ghosts floating around the place... But generally just the Teacher trying to bonk the student girl.
@Bigdamnhero: There are some moments of chuckleworthy applause but they're few and far between. (read: Rhys Darby's scenes which are just Murray).
Netflix, (or LOVEFilM it for the UK) and don't expect anything great out of this as the plotholes are bigger than the chunk the iceberg took out of Titanic.
Black lightning looks like the dumbest fucking movie I have ever seen.
I'm sorry, a Gothic choral soundtrack and a bunch of special effects is not going to distract me from the fact that I am watching the dumbest possible Russian version of Grease. Really, a flying car?
Wow! Kenadie Jourdin (from the IEP trailer) looks amazing and so healthy! I am so happy for her and her family. I certainly didn't expect her to pop up as an actress. She's awesome. Go her.
I don't care what anyone says..Timur Bekmambetov's style is freaking amazing. Night Watch, Day Watch, Wanted, and now The Black Lightning...Visually he's one of my favorite directors.
for a split second after reading the title, I thought Conchords and the Always Sunny gang were teaming up do a sci-fi project...and then my soul broke realizing that would probably never happen =(
Wow, I sent a tip in about Diagnosis Death back in August, I think, which is when it came out in the UK. Anyway, it's a fun movie with a couple of giant plot holes. Worth a watch.
I've got a crazy idea...some insane company creates a genetically modified corn. Then that corn spreads everywhere and, consequently, anyone who has their corn growing on their land has to pay a fine. Thus spawning a financial apocalypse.
NAHHH!!! That's too outlandish. No one would ever buy the premise.
