"And that means Colbert has joined ranks with Richard Nixon, as his name will be on our space junk even after humanity has moved on."
Hate to be a pedant, but the ISS is in a low orbit and only frequent boosts from the Shuttle keep its orbit from decaying rather quickly. If humanity suddenly disappeared, the ISS wouldn't stay in orbit very long afterward.
Take THAT River Tam! River Tam's winning streak is CRUSHED! The campaign to name the module "Serenity" failed, failed in the face of the Great American Patriot, Stephen Colbert.
I am more curious about how the treadmill works without gravity? Do you have to press yourself down to run on it? or is a magnetic system that holds your foot on it?
I just read this week's outing for Buffy Season 8, expecting to find this part of the story line. This week's episode/book/chapter/whatever was titled, "BtVS Season 8: Tales of the Vampires".
I read it too quickly but not interested enough to go back for the reread yet. An unknown boy gets turned by an unknown blonde vampire. Then the new vampire had a young girl who was in love with her. Turns out she was broken hearted and a slayer. In her teen angst and broken heart, she does what slayers do... she dusted the unknown blonde. Which is why I decided that unknown blonde was not Harmony.
The new vampire boy drinks the slayer dead, after an emo rant that, "vampires aren't evil we have a right to live."
i didn't get caught up in the emotional resonance it was trying to evoke. I guess I am an adult now.
It had a very artsy feel to the artwork, but teen angst + artsy feel, didn't work for me. However, I have to admit that it is better than those two frames of Stephen and Harmony.
@PostMarque: Buffy the Vampire Slayer - Tales of the Vampire came out on June 25, and was a one shot. Buffy Season 8 27 came out Aug 5.
Maybe you should start asking the comic book guy at the store when stuff came out, seeing as there was no "outing" this week, and the issue you picked up is one and a half month old.
I know that Colbert is featured in several comic books. In those, is he generally not supposed to be a comedian? In the panel shown, he seems to be conducting a serious interview. In reality he would be saying something like "Tell me why you love vampires." or "If magic is so evil, shouldn't you be starting with David Blaine?"
@The Curse of Millhaven: It is trying to go after a wider audience. I can see that they are really trying. But Harmony, not the best spokesvamp for Vampire Rights. Stephen Colbert is ironically funny, however Ellen D. + Harmony would have been a better fit.
She does have a point with anti-slayer stancing. Buffy and The Slayerettes did knock off a lot of banks and pirated stuff for a while, in order to afford a Scottish Castle that is all teched out.
At least Buffy got their submarine to Oz in the Himalayan Mountains. Let's see what happens next.
Is anyone else completely amazed by Wednesday Comics from DC? It's one of these retro-nostalgia things for the Sunday Comics that never were.
Full broadsheet comics that are just gorgeous, and plus there's a Metamorpho weekly comic from Gaiman and Allred.
@amygdala: Amidst all of the big-name comics, Wednesday Comics is still the first comic I read every week. 90% of it is pure gold. I don't think I've ever wanted a Metal Men comic more in my life.
That Wonder Woman comic though, ugh. I commend anyone that tries to get through that incomprehensible pile of words and half-pictures.

I've been really impressed with IDW's TNG, Post-TNG comics, especially with some of the Alien Spotlight issues (the Q issue from last week was particularly nice). Excited for the Nero mini for sure.
I met this guy on Saturday (actually I think I've met him before, but nevermind) and was all "saw you on Colbert!" He wasn't sure how he'd come across. Seth is much snarkier and quick-witted, but of course when you're on Colbert, you're there to be the straight man. But I told him he did well and did get some good info out.
See, all you people who didn't come to Baycon? You could have had an hour of this guy or more, talking seriously, with charts and graphs and stuff and taking questions.

Meh. If they hadn't said it was Colbert, I'd never have guessed.
