Great concept, but like all things non-Pixar, it ends up about slapstick and with almost checklist-like precision, nut shots and misplaced urban music. It's not at all encouraging when a movie featuring SUPERVILLAINS has a trailer that doesn't showcase a flair for the oratory.

Just glad to see a new trailer -- I've seen the first one a bazillion times and am tired of the fat kid bouncing off the pyramid. #despicableme

Anyone else reminded of League Of Super Evil?

Let's give it a chance even if it's not Pixar. I disagree with the Pixar worship on this thread. Since the 90s their output has gotten increasingly melancholic and pretentious, and simply not as fun. (However, the Incredibles is a masterpiece.) Is Cars better than Meet The Robinsons? Is the bird from Up more engaging a character than Scrat? #despicableme

@glucious: Cars sucked, but other than that I don't think Pixar has made a bad movie yet, and hopefully they never will. #despicableme

"Hmmmm, I see no orphans in the teaser trailer." The orphans are in the very last frame. The rest of the trailer sort of reminds me of Spy vs. Spy. #despicableme

The picture at the top of the story has a certain 'JJ the Jet Plane' quality about it... #despicableme

This looks fun. But I would rather have him raise the girls to be a team of supervillians. There could be the mad scientist, the mastermind, and the PR agent. #despicableme

Oh, are we really surprised? A Steve Carell animated film that ends with his character being redeemed by his experience with three kids. Was there any other way this movie would end? #despicableme

As if any of those films are anything to be proud of. And one of primary warning flags of any animated film is that they try to sell you stars. Pixar never does that. It's about the characters first, not who's voicing them. #despicableme

@AngriestGeek: that's true. every CGI and animated film I've seen where the voice stars have been sold before the main premise of the film has bombed. miserably.

i like the theme song though. #despicableme

Except Shrek. Perhaps it would be more accurate to say every such film should have bombed. #despicableme
