"So I guess it's barely possible that if the series ends with Willie Adama as a tween or teen, you could see the start of the First Cylon War, if Adama joined the service as a 18-year-old."
Not to go all Star Wars on you, but I always thought Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru looked extremely haggard and weathered for 40 year old tatooine farmers in their 1977 incarnations.
@cylon_conspiracy: Luke's fault. Stress'll do that to you. It took all Owen's crass-rigidity to break all that making the baby toys float around the room, you know!
I'm especially glad there wasn't any speaking. The easiest way to ruin a video like this is by having the "actors" try and talk like the characters. It never sounds right and always comes across as embarrassing.
Feh. That could have been anyone. Displayed none of their personality traits whatsoever. Just two clowns in average cosplay costumes doing generic falling in love schtick.
Yes, I'm a party pooper, but I'm very protective of my VB.
"My biggest problem was the reveal of Angry Bald Guy's medication to be sleeping pills. A marine loses his mind over sleeping pills?" Have you ever heard of something called Post Traumatic Stress Disorder? Suicides relating to it happen to be the leading cause of death for Marines. If you've ever spoken to combat vets you'll find the memories they have are hard to shake. My grandfather served in WWII with the 1st infantry division and even 50 years after the war ended he still woke up sometimes in the middle of the night drenched in sweat thinking he was in a fox hole. Maybe Angry Bald Guy needed the pills to get a moments peace.
Meaney, Bates, Potts, Curry and especially Frewer made this super-enjoyable for me. Plus the production design, and the very creepy Dee & Dum. Oh, and the Jabberwock, which I thought was quite adorable.
Alice was the only letdown for me, really - I didn't feel any charisma from her.
It wasn't a classic by any means, but far better than most "SyFy" offerings.
I thought this was the best Sci-Fi miniseries since The Lost Room, quite honestly! I agree that not all the t's were crossed and the i's were dotted, but I think the emotional throughline was compelling, and that sucked me in. Which is basically what you say above, Meredith, although I will say that the Carpenter plotline affected me a lot more than you (maybe because I can't remember the 10th Kingdom at all.)
I also agree with the criticism that the miniseries really had very little to do with Lewis Carroll's work, but once I let go of my love of the source material, I found I was much more able to enjoy this on its own merits.

Everyone on there is going to come out looking like wrinkled shoe leather.
I was going to put a joke about any number of celebrities on our planet here but couldn't come up with a good one.

I thought it was sweet, but I'd watch pretty much anything in slow-motion with twinkly music.

Much better than most SyFy/Sci-Fi channel productions.
