Hopefully Avatar makes Cameron enough money that he can buy the IP back and at least prevent another Terminator: Salvation from happening.

First movie came out in the 80s. Second movie came out in the 90s. The next movie came out in the 2000s. Logically, the next one should come out in 2010. However they decided to defy logic (for a robot movie, no less!) and come out with a second movie in this decade. Silly humans. When will you learn to abide by the patterns and rules of logic?
....I remain convinced this is why the franchise failed and you will not convince me otherwise.

A lot of people still can't get over his past life. Even more people are pissed that he is Republican. Just another example of people not looking past their noses. I have no way to back this up, but a Californian Republican would get strung up for his liberal ways in other states.
A good number of Californians are screaming bloody murder about the $60 billion gap in the budget. That is billion, with a 'b' and so accordingly, they are mad at old Arnie for being Conan when really we need Toth Amon to fix this mess.
In short, some people are mad the government. Some people are not. Some people are too busy to pay attention. And a vast majority don't give a fuck.

So Arnie and his money and fame took advantage of that. Nobody cared about his political leanings at the time, since he is as liberal as you can be and still be technically a Republican, and the Democrat running against him was no great shakes.
He's done some good things about going for green tech, but budget-wise, he's screwed the pooch -- and even he knows it. Government employees have really gotten it badly, what with the mandatory pay cuts and days off so that the citizens can't get anything done b/c there's no one answering the phone many days.
Nobody cares about water rights, much (outside Bakersfield) -- it's the fact that the money for schools, hospitals, social services, etc. are pretty non-existent.
The school situation has gotten WORSE every year since he's been in charge -- class sizes up, extracurriculars gone, infrastructure rotting, whatever metric you want to use. So that part of your argument makes no sense at all.
Arnie's keeping his head down, trying to survive his term, trying not to completely destroy what's left of the GOP reputation, and looking forward to going back to Hollywood (not that he's in Sacramento very often anyway).
(Property taxpayer since 1985, thanks. Come back, Gray Davis, all is forgiven.)

I can't argue about the energy crisis. I would say that there was an energy crisis, but not in the sense that we were lacking it. The crisis was that Davis signed a bunch of inflated rates into effect without batting an eye there by paving the road from Corporate to our homes. So we agree there. But Davis was under fire for a lot of other things. In my opinion (oh so humble) the biggest the issue was his shady ass dealings with money. To be specific, his last year of office was like a series of planet-sized bake sales what with all of the "contributions" being made. Of course, these contributors then received boosted funding. The most public of these being the CCPOA. Was Davis corrupt, we can never know, but he sure as hell made it easy to suppose.
The aftermath of the recall was hilarious. Larry Flynt and Gary Coleman, that is all I have to say about that. Riordan, Bill Simon and Issa played a huge role in Arnie's campaign so to say that he did it solely on fame would be unfair. His Party backed him and not behind a wink nor a nod although they did look pissed when they did it. :) As for Arnie funding his own campaign, that is bad why? The less money he borrows the less "favors" he owes.
I agree on the green but I refuse to congratulate people for following suit.
Now the budget, oh my god the budget. It has been a roller coaster. First he refuses, then he capitulates, then he gives speeches, then he refuses and on and on... truth is, most of the budget issues were on the legislative end of things. You can't just write numbers on paper and expect the money to show up. They had a finite amount to work with and they seemingly refused to acknowledge that.
As for Furlough Fridays. They affect everyone but it has hit the private sector much harder. We don't get free food and clothes just because we are doing what we said we would do when we got our job. You work for the government, you can expect to be directly affected by the government's decisions. And the defining characteristics of a state job (i.e. health/dental/vision benefits) were not affected. Two Fridays a month. It's a shit ton better than not working any Fridays, or any other days in the month for that matter.
The water rights issue is big one that is only going to grow. Ignoring a disaster when only the epicenter is hit is not a good idea. Ha ha, maybe a water crisis will be the final blow to Schwarzeneggar's rule.
I am not arguing that schools have improved but the fact that it is being addressed and attacked is better than us creating a whole sleu of Special Committees whose sole function is to rub elbows with "experts" and discuss the feasibility of untried efforts.
"Arnie's keeping his head down, trying to survive his term, trying not to completely destroy what's left of the GOP reputation, and looking forward to going back to Hollywood (not that he's in Sacramento very often anyway)."
I am keeping this section intact simply because I wholeheartedly agree. The general lack of faith in local government is alarming. At least a decade ago we could have said that people don't care because they are not interested, but we would be hard pressed to argue that people are not getting more involved.
So you live in Sac?

Must of missed that part of the movie too.
Seems like a good thing to have in any movie though.
