The actual ship is a curvaceous wonder, and as with all things Zack Snyder, attention is being paid to every single set detail so we can have our very own living breathing comic book. Also the production designer Alex McDowell wrote a fake diary entry on his blog that reads like "The Adventures Of Alex And Zack Snyder." Click through for more pictures from McDowell's "discovery" and then watch a video of him building it.

I have to admit, the ship looks pretty stellar. I'm excited to see it take off over an alternate history New York, but to be honest the cheesily breathless narration in McDowell's diary of his journey into Nite Owl's real-life lair leaves me a bit cold. So it's a good thing the diary includes a whole mess of black and white stills over at AICN. I have a feeling we're in for a long road of Watchmen hype until its release on March 6, 2009.

<![CDATA[Secret Origin Of Watchmen's Original Heroes]]> Yet another sign that Zack Snyder's Watchmen movie will pay slavish tribute to the Alan Moore/Dave Gibbons comic: this old-timey style photo of its original superhero team, the Minutemen. They're the earliest superheroes in the Watchmen universe, and their division is what builds character and history for the modern-day costumed avengers. As with almost all of Snyder's images so far, the picture is a pretty spot-on recreation of the picture from the graphic novel. Starting on the left is Silhouette, Mothman, Captain Metropolis, Nite Owl, Dollar Bill, the Comedian, Silk Spectre and Hooded Justice. [Ain't It Cool News]
