    just so you know, charlie jane, it was this movie, and this speech specifically that convinced me - years before the comic book and the series - that matt keeslar was the only actor for the role. thank god he said yes!

    @javiergrillomarxuach: Wow cool! This isn't even the best Keeslar moment in the movie. The best moment is where he says "People always say they won't take no for an answer. I *will* take no for an answer." Always gives me goosebumps for some reason. But the Lady and the Tramp scene struck me as amazingly Middleman-esque when I re-watched it.

    @javiergrillomarxuach: It makes sense that lurking beneath the Whit Stillman hero is a straight-up superhero. Or maybe beneath The Middleman superheroes there are a bunch of over-educated New Yorkers? Either way, I want more Javier and more Whit in the world. That is all.

    @Doctor Who?: Yes, exactly. I wrote a comment explaining that, and somehow it got eaten. It's Matt "The Middleman" Keeslar, in his role in the movie The Last Days Of Disco. And yet, it is true that The Middleman is (IMHO) every bit as great as this clip.

    Add "on ABC Family" in any sentence and I usually stop reading (in fact, when re-reading for typos I amlost...) - but after watching this clip I want to see all of Middleman. The deconstruction of Lady and the Tramp is spot on. Is the entire show this good?!
