Supernatural season five will feature the greatest twist on its "angel" storyline yet. New Doctor Who set photos reveal a MacGuffin.... from space! There are New Moon pics and Aliens In The Attic/Green Lantern: First Flight clips. Spoilers emulsify.

New Moon:

Here are a few new stills the studio sent us. I think only one of them is actually new. But now, they're all in insanely high res, in case you need a new desktop pattern.

Aliens In The Attic:

We came across a bunch of new clips and TV spots on Youtube, for this High School Musical-meets-Gremlins film, coming out July 31.

And here are a slew of new stills. Could this just possibly be the most hotly anticipated Ashley Tisdale alien movie of the summer? Just possibly! [IGN]

Doctor Who:

As someone pointed out yesterday, there's a reason why the Doctor, Amy and River Song are all hanging out on the beach together in that new scene being filmed. It looks like they're investigating a crashed retro rocket that's still smouldering, with fires around it. Here's a detail from one set pic — see the whole thing, plus other new pics, at the link. [SFX]

And here are some more set pics of the Doctor and Amy, looking extremely fresh-faced and bouncy. More at the link. [Blogtor Who]

So we haven't regaled you with a vague quote about David Tennant's final episodes in a while. Here's Russell T. Davies:

I feel by the time you see the last episodes, especially the great big finally, I think you will feel you've been through almost every emotion that's possible. Of course, that's not true. Of course, there's always something new to explore. If I stayed there a hundred years, I'd always have something new to say... I can promise you, you will be crying your eyes out. We actually sort of finished editing his last episode yesterday and I was so excited. I think it's a joy and I can't wait for you to see it.

You will feel every possible emotion! Even ones with fancy German names! [Starpulse]

Supernatural:

In the new season, Dean takes Castiel out on the town for a night out, to loosen the angel up. And wackiness ensues. I am so there. [E! Online]

Fringe:

Some details on the new season's episodes. Episode 1, "A New Day In The Old Town," is about a shapeshifter who continually molds his face, and it's directed by Akiva Goldsman from a script by Goldsman and J.J. Abrams. Episode 2, "Night Of Desirable Objects," is about a mole man living under the town, pulling people underground and eating them. [Fringe Television]

Smallville:

Chloe and Clark will have a strained relationship in season umpteen, although the duo will still work together. [E! Online]

Sanctuary:

Stargate Atlantis' Paul McGillion will join the cast of this Syfy show, playing a re-imagined version of "Wexford," the character he played in the original online show. He'll appear in the last couple episodes of season two, and possibly in season three if the show gets renewed. [Solutions Blog]

Green Lantern - First Flight:

Here are the first four minutes of the direct-to-DVD animated movie. [MTV via Comic Book Resources]

True Blood:

Next week, Sookie heads off to the Fellowship Of The Sun to find out what happened to Godric. Bill's quite worried about her safety, and Anna Paquin says Sookie's the type to save the day or "die trying." [E! Online]

Defying Gravity:

This "Grey's Anatomy in space" show also does have some surface similarities to Ron Moore's Virtuality. One character even gets almost blown out an airlock, and there's a sinister entity orchestrating events — the secret villain is called Beta, but it's probably not a virtual crazy guy. And this show is a bit more light-hearted. [E! Online]

<![CDATA[Is This The Year We Have To Kill Cute Aliens?]]> Two new trailers for the Ashley-Tisdale-vs-cute-aliens epic Aliens In The Attic have come out, and they're making me wonder: Is this the year of movies about humans fighting cute aliens with big eyes? The second trailer includes a rundown of the movie's cutesy alien invaders. At least there's mind control.

So in Aliens In The Attic (formerly known as They Came From Upstairs) a family goes on vacation in the countryside, only to find that four aliens have gotten there first. And these aliens are the vanguard of an alien invasion fleet, although one of them really just wants to make friends. There's Sparks, the friendly one, Skip, the mean one, Spike, the dumb one, and Razor, the female one. Here's the UK trailer, with more details on these incredibly vivid personalities. Plus mind-control and crotch shots!

So seriously, what's the deal with us having to battle cute aliens all the time? First there was Battle For Terra, where we invaded the planet of lovable ETs. Then there's this movie, where the cute aliens invade us back. And then there's Planet 51, where the Rock crashes on a planet of cute aliens and gets mistaken for an invader. And finally, there's James Cameron's Avatar, where we invade the cute aliens again. What gives?

<![CDATA[New Set Pics Reveal Just How Freaktastic David Tennant's Final Doctor Who Story Will Be]]> Today's spoilers include shocking Doctor Who set pics. Plus Wolverine TV spots that highlight a previously overlooked character. Plus Lost/Smallville pics. Also: Avatar, Star Trek, They Came From Upstairs, Lost, Dollhouse, Stargate and Heroes spoilers.

Star Trek:

Spock is the first Vulcan ever to be accepted into Starfleet Academy. (Which seems odd. Wasn't there a whole Starfleet ship crewed by just Vulcans in the original series?) [Cinemablend]

They Came From Upstairs:

Josh Peck, who voices one of the alien invaders in this Ashley Tisdale vehicle, describes his character: "I play Sparks, an engineer. [He's] a little bit geeky but smart." [MTV]

X-Men Origins: Wolverine:

Here are a few TV spots that I think are new. Among other things, they showcase the crucial character of "wise old guy who brings Wolverine a cool jacket and then dies."

Avatar:

This James Cameron movie is about the future, and machines, and what happens when humans get ahead of themselves and take on bigger roles than our "mortality can sustain," says Zoe Saldana. And her character is on a planet that humans are inhabiting and "sort of ravaging." She's trying to protect her family and what belongs to them. [Sci Fi Wire]

Also, I'm not really sure if this counts as a spoiler, but Steven Soderbergh said Avatar is "the craziest shit ever." [Cinematical]

Doctor Who:

Judging from new set reports, Russell T. Davies' final story as show-runner will be understated and low-key. Just kidding! The show just filmed inside Cardiff City Hall, and apparently the scene required the presence of Captain Jack, a Slitheen, a Graske (the tiny alien who bothered the Doctor in the interactive TV game "Attack Of The Graske" and some other tie-ins), plus red and white aliens, monks, and a mysterious shrouded woman. Also, RTD's favorite actor, Russell Tovey (who played Midshipman Frame in "Voyage Of The Damned") was there, wearing a black military uniform. Pictures by the amazing Alun Vega and Scooty. [Planet Gallifrey]

Dollhouse:

Delayed gratification is overrated. The mysterious Alpha will be unmasked in this Friday's episode. Yay! [EW]

Lost:

Among the crucial questions you'll get answers to in the season finale, are "How did Hurley get that guitar case that he brought on the Ajira flight to Guam?" But also, "How did Hurley get out of jail?" Also, we'll see Vincent the dog again — but while the fate of Bernard and Rose will be alluded to, we may not actually see Bernard and Rose in person. We'll also see the face of the four-toed statue, which Michael Emerson believes is Tawaret, goddess of childbirth. And the season finale's title, "The Incident," is a clue to the direction the show is moving in. It'll end with several major characters in jeopardy, until the final season begins in 2010. [TV Guide via Lyly Ford]

And the finale has a huge, massive twist, that's bigger than anythign we've seen so far, according to Yunjin Kim. Not that we should get our expectations up or anything. [Variety]

Jack's plan to "un-crash" Oceanic Flight 815 is not foolproof, sadly. But it doesn't lead to the deaths of everyone involved — just one person. And that death, though heartbreaking on the scale of Charlie's end, will one day seem necessary because it sets up a raft of amazing future storylines and brings closure to some other long-running stories. [E! Online]

And here are some pics from next week's Locke-and-Ben-heavy episode. [Doc Arzt]

Stargate Universe:

Michael Shanks only has a brief cameo in the first episode, he tells Sci Fi Wire. And don't expect to see him popping in again any time soon after that. Since the new show has such a different feel than earlier incarnations, it could be disruptive to see people turn up from old Stargates. [Sci Fi Wire]

Smallville:

The season finale is "magical," says Erica Durance — but I'm not sure if that means Zatanna will be back or not. Meanwhile, she says Lois' big fight in the finale is with another girl. And the deaths in the finale are heartbreaking and you'll be sitting there with your jaw open. [TV Guide]

Clark is sort of responsible for turning Davis into the Doomsday we know from the comics. And the events of the season finale turn everything he's worked for this season on its head. [TV Guide via SpoilerTV]

Here are some more pics from episode 8x20, "Beast." [OSCK]

And some pics from the season finale. [Kryptonsite]

The end of the season finale will include a special guest, who's going to cause tons of trouble next year, in the show's ninth (!) season. Also, the finale's big death will include a twist, but it doesn't involve anyone coming back from the dead. [EW]

Heroes:

The fact that Sylar was brainwashed into becoming Nathan Petrelli does not mean that we won't be seeing Zachary Quinto next fall. He'll be around. But the show will also introduce a mysterious and cool new villain. And Tracy's quest for revenge will drive the "Redemption" storyline throughout the fall. (Suddenly, a ninth season of Smallville sounds perfectly reasonable.) [EW]

Additional reporting by Alasdair Wilkins.

<![CDATA[Star Trek Space Battles, Sarah Connor Clips And An Alan Tudyk Sighting]]> Spoiler overload: Spacey new Star Trek pics! Wolverine TV spots! Terminator posters! Iron Man 2 set video! A Doctor Who plot twist! Sarah Connor clips! Dollhouse guest-star photos! V synopsis! Plus Lost, Fringe and Supernatural.

Star Trek:

Here are seven new pics, and a new Imax poster, for next month's space-operatic epic. [DVDForum via Slashfilm]

Terminator Salvation:

Here's a new poster, featuring the smushy heads of doom, plus another actiony poster. [Spike and Icon Vs. Icon]

Iron Man 2:

A new set video reveals that all the stars of this movie will be bipedal. Also, there's a glimpse of the movie's logo. [IESB]

X-Men Origins: Wolverine:

A few new TV spots give you the lowdown on the 10,000 mutants in the movie:

Dragonball Evolution:

The race Goku comes from, the Saiyans are evil - they come to a nice planet, kill all the intelligent life, and then sell it to the highest bidder, says James Marsters. And once again, Piccolo doesn't die in this film. Marsters is signed on for two more. [Sci Fi Wire]

Bulma's car is a yellow speedster with a black racing stripe, a Can-Am Spider, which appears in the early high-school sequences. Yamcha, the film's "Han Solo," drives a camouflaged big-wheeler based on the Hummer. Yamcha is a "hustler and a swindler," says actor Joon Park. Also, Goku and his love interest Chi Chi have a fight in the temple courtyard. And Piccolo travels to Earth using an alien Genesis Chamber, including a metal throne that Piccolo uses to control the Dragonballs.

In a crucial scene, Goku stands over the fallen body of one of his companions, and Piccolo gloats that he's won. Goku summons his last remaining strength and says, "My grandfather taught me the first rule is, there are no rules." Then he attacks Piccolo. [Comic Book Resources]

They Came From Upstairs:

A couple of stills from the Ashley Tisdale alien invasion movie. [Rope Of Silicon]

Doctor Who:

David Tennant explains what to expect from Saturday's new episode, "Planet Of The Dead." Michelle Ryan "in a catsuit" steals something important. She jumps on a double-decker London bus to escape, and winds up falling through a wormhole in time and space to another planet. There, she and the Doctor are attacked by the red, flying Swarm, plus the alien Tritovores. Plus something sinister is happening back on Earth. The Doctor can't get back home, because he's trapped like everyone else. But "luckily we manage to communicate through the worm hole because we doctor a mobile phone." The episode is mostly light but with some dark moments, and at the end there's a hint that things are about to get much darker. This is the last time the Tenth Doctor gets to have fun. [BBC]

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles:

Here are two clips from tonight's season finale - which we still hope won't be a series finale. No fate but what we make! [Fox]

Dollhouse:

Here are some photos from episode 11, "Briar Rose." And do you notice a familiar face? Apparently Alan Tudyk plays "Stephen Kepler, the agoraphobic designer of the Dollhouse," who helps Paul Ballard with his investigation. (Remember, we were told we'd meet Alpha before we knew it was Alpha.) Meanwhile, Echo helps a young girl come to terms with her traumatic past. And Boyd protects the Dollhouse from an intruder. [SpoilerTV]

V:

ABC released a synopsis for its new reboot of the stealth alien invasion show:

Today, the world woke up to find spaceships over every major city. The Visitors claim to have come in peace, bringing gifts of medical miracles and technological breakthroughs. They promise to do no harm. They're lying. Most people believe the aliens have arrived just when we needed them most. We're eager to embrace their generous offers of help, but while tracking a terrorist cell, Homeland Security agent Erica Evans stumbles upon something far more sinister. When her partner tries to kill her, Erica discovers that the aliens have plans to infiltrate our governments and businesses, planting seeds for their plot to control mankind. Convincing anyone of the truth will be impossible because the Visitors have two powerful weapons. First, they've given the people faith with their reassuring presence and gifts. Second, they've rallied our youth. Thousands of teens, including Erica's son, have been recruited as 'Peace Ambassadors' but they're actually serving as unwitting spies. Erica's violent introduction to the truth thrusts her into the resistance movement, where she joins forces with Ryan, a rogue alien driven to save humanity. She'll have to balance her covert activities with her job, and her role as a mother, fighting to protect her son Tyler even as he joins forces with the enemy.

[Visitorsite]

Lost:

The producers answer some questions in their official podcast. Desmond's wound really is serious, and his life may be in danger. We'll learn more about the ramifications of John Locke's shocking resurrection. Next week's outing, "Some Like It Hoth," gives a sense of comedy to the show. And after that, it's a non-stop rollercoaster of events. [SpoilersLost]

Will Kate and Sawyer really get back together in season six? Here's an utterly baffling response from E! Online:

Ummm...not to spoil everybody for everything ever, but based on reading Harry Potter up through Half-Blood Prince, I can reliably tell you that Ron and Hermione get together in Deathly Hallows. Either that or everybody dies, but Hermione-Draco? Not ever gonna be canon.

(Who's Draco in this example? Juliet?) Meanwhile, next week we'll learn why Miles was on the freighter, and also whether he's been on the island before. [E! Online]

Also in next week's episode, Naomi makes a return appearance, despite being dead. Apparently, it's a flashback, and she hangs out with Miles in it. [TV Guide]

Fringe:

Here's what happens in the last few episodes of the season. In "Midnight," someone is mutilating tons of bodies and draining all their spinal cord fluid out. Their investigation leads them to a scientist with possible ties to the ZFT bioterrorist cell, and then they're shocked to discover the identity and motive of the killer. The kills get more and more frequent, until our heroes take desperate measures to stop them.

In "The Road Not Taken," Olivia starts dreaming while wide awake, seeing stuff that's not there. Investigating the case of a woman who spontaneously combusted, Olivia decides to use her visions for clues. Meanwhile, Walter admits prior knowledge of the ZFT manifesto. And Peter's secret project is revealed, and turns out to be useful in solving the case.

And in the finale, "There's More Than One Of Everything," someone with close ties to Fringe Division is attacked, and David Robert Jones comes back. And then Walter disappears with no explanation. [SF Universe]

Supernatural:

An upcoming episode called "The Rapture" features a whole lot of Castiel, judging from these pics. [SF Universe]

<![CDATA[I Can Haz Invashun Plan]]> Awww isn't 20th Century Fox's new CG alien adorable? He's like a little gray with kitten eyes and puppy paws. This saccharine sweet movie They Came From Upstairs is jam-packed with tweeny goodness, including High School Musical's Ashley Tisdale. See the trailer, and wish the curious alien luck as he faces off with his look-alike alien brethren, who I assume want to take over the attic or our world — either way is equally cute.

Will They Came From Upstairs herald in a new dawn of cute alien movies? And can it stand up to classic craptastic alien kid buddy movies of the past. Sure he's cute it's not like he's saving kids in wheelcharis a la Mac And Me.

The movie comes out next year.

<![CDATA[Your Guy Won't Look You In The Eye. Could It Be Alien Mind Control?]]> Wow, I'm kind of excited for They Came From Upstairs, the alien-invasion teen comedy starring High School Musical's Ashley Tisdale. It sounds like it has everything: mind control, nasty little aliens who want to take over the world, comedy, pathos, action, and maybe singing. In the film, two families are vacationing, and a group of the kids discover that evil aliens have the ability to "plug" people and take them over — including Tisdale's boyfriend. So she spends a lot of the movie trying to work out her relationship with her BF, while he's under alien mind control. But eventually Ashley kicks the aliens' asses. [MTV Movies]
