Gallifrey Base has been speculating about the name of the wrecked spacecraft since the original photos came out yesterday, but now somebody has snapped this lucky shot which confirmed our suspicions that the crashed ship is indeed named 'Byzantium.'
"The crash of the Byzantium" was one of the events that River Song referenced back in Silence in the Library when she was trying to determine which adventures she and the Doctor had already been on together.
One can only wonder if this means we're going to see a "picnic in Asgard" or the "end of the universe" in season 6?
I like the new companion, as I'm all about the gingers, but what could have inspired them to cast Marty McFly's dad as the new Doctor? My Creeped-right-the-F-out-O-Meter is pegged at 10 right now.
there is going to be the Doctors giant head in the opening credits this year. Let's hope to god it doesn't wink, but there'll be the head, it was announce a while ago.
I'm a little sad, with all the other retroness if the new season that they didn't go back to the old classic Pertwee-Davison model. (if for no other reason, than I'd like Character Options to produce a cheap toy version of the classic screwdriver)
Well I certainly hope Amy doesn't get too "bouncy", this is a family show after all. I've wanted to say this for years: Won't somebody think of the children?
@Julius Seizure. (the CANUCK one): Somebody was thinking of all those men and women with a weakness for redheads in short skirts and tights and that's enough for me. Even family shows need to introduce kids to the birds and bees and vanilla fetishes, after all.
Do we have to have Twilight information? Is anyone legitimately interested or is flame/Twihard bait?
Also, as I am in the UK I can't get the Green Lantern clip :( Does not bode well to a region release for me.
@Peppermint_m: This is not a Vampire blog it is a Sci-fi / Comic blog. All the references to vampires are purely coincidental to the fact that the editor likes True Blood.
@reddingofish: Vampires are considered Urban Fantasy - which incidentally io9 covers. That doesn't mean I couldn't care less if there weren't anything on Twilight here, mind.
when we are aged and nearly gone our children will come to us and ask, 'you must have seen the signs, the ill omens, the portents of doom that surrounded you. why did you sit idly by and do nothing while our world withered and died around you leaving nothing but an empty husk to pass to us, your children?'
and we will answer 'in our ignorance, our youth, our hubris we thought we could control these forces for our own edification but we knew not what horrors the disney channel stars would visit upon the world."
@tetracycloide: Then there are of those of us who do know, and don't care. A world that allows such a plague as Disney channel stars to propagate and flourish doesn't deserve saving.
