    @Chip Skylark of Space: it was good. let me say this- it builds up to the PERFECT ending for the series.

    now the cons- the bad guy is a poor man's Stinky Pete, act one is a poor imitation of act one of Toy Story 2, the final climax in act three is a again, a poor repeat of the airport chase in TS2.

    the good news- i gave all that feedback to the pixar peeps on hand. and the film i saw was, i'd say 75% animatic. so we're still a ways out, they will hopefully make some changes... we will see. #tomhanks

    I hope some day that Tom has the money to pay for a trip to the moon (the Soyuz vacation special). That'd blow people's minds, but that last I saw, the Russians were saying it would cost 100 million. It'd be nice for Soyuz to finally do the thing it was built to do- go to the moon.

    @His_Steveness: on the first pair of points i'd agree but on the third it would depend on what you meant by 'writting.' he's certianly proficent at writting books that people find easy to read and entertaining which means he's good at writting fiction for profit. as much as the community of critics, arm chair and otherwise, would have you belive this requires little actual skill i do not belive this to be the case. on the contrary, making money in today's book market requires both talent and luck in significant quantity; it's just not normally the kind of talent a critic would think of when they say 'talent.'

    Anyone catch Tom Hanks on Letterman recently? He mentions how cold it was standing in the National Mall watching the inaugeratuion. He describes it as "ice planet Hoth". Dave replies with "Hoth?", leading Tom to say, "You know, Hoth! Where Spock left Kirk".
