@Annalee: So you (and others) can salvage something worthwhile from this clearly less than appetizing experience, may I present to you, a picture of a TAHITIAN TARO BURGER [Sorry, I couldn't find one of Tahitian Pancakes :( ].
(Hereafter to be known, until the end of time, as the "WTF LOVEMUNCHER" TM.)
It's principal component is made from the Taro root, as are Tahitian Pancakes.
The best pancakes are made from a mix of Taro flour and wheat flour (many prefer a 60:40 ratio).
The texture is delightful and the flavour is slightly 'nutty' (a slice of Jarlsberg or Leerdammer cheese compliments it beautifully).
You should be able to purchase Taro flour in a natural food store or in SF's Chinatown, as it's used in dim-sum dumplings [or try Taro-chips, for Jarlsberg dips and fondue].

Edit: Oh holy crap, how did I miss this? S.W.O.R.D. #1 comes out this week! Abigail Brand is the second best thing to come out of Joss's run on Astonishing (the best being Armor).

Overall, this was one of the better episodes of the last few years, (not saying much) but Annalee's criticisms are (mostly) right on the mark.
Somebody should kill Emma and Peter stat. They really get on my fucking nerves. That god damned tension pneumo? how the hell does some little girl end up on the floor of a store room? Couldn't you at least use a sthethescope and look at the girl's neck to see if the trachea is deviated before you come at her with a sharp needle? And could you please stick the needle in her lung instead of her liver to fix the problem? And, one last request, could you get out air from a pneumothorax instead of blood? Please?
Of course Sylar and Parkman aren't dead. Nobody ever dies on heroes. Nobody. Ever. Even when Nathan famously dies later this year, he will come back like a bad Marvel retcon.
The lesbian subplot has been wrapped up way too quick. Not because I'm into cute lesbians (although I am) but because it was a chance to develop Claire beyond the whole love/hate thing with HRG and the writers pissed it away.
Samuel needs a new Schtick. It was moderately interesting at first, but it's time to do something with it or admit ou got nuthin' (as usual) and wrap it up.
I liked the Sylar/Parkman thing. Parkman tried to get bad ass, then Sylar showed him he was in over his head, then Parkman showed him he can get wild too. I was OK with that.
Annalee's recaps remain better than the show. #heroes

I mean, how many centuries does our calendar have? When does it "run out"? Well, it doesn't. Neither does theirs. #2012

IIRC, Mrs. Overclock (a.k.a. Dr. Overclock, Medicine Woman) and I got dressed up and went out dancing in Downtown Denver on December 31, 1999. After quite a bit of champagne, after midnight we peeked outside, saw the traffic lights were still working, and went back to the party.
