    Does anyone remember a sci-fi series/movie where the people were given jewels or buttons implanted into their brestbone that glowed a certain color to say who they were compatible with so they could mate w/o spreading on this gene which could mutate them? I want to say a Delouise was in it, but I'm not sure. IIRC, they had this like holodeck thing w/parental controls, which shocked me b/c no other series had ever addressed that. Sorry for the rambling but Timer made me think of that.

    Heh, Kurzweil is not a visionary. Man-machine integration has been foreseen for decades.


    The other movie sounds weird, though. If the implants match people up to each other, how can they be on a timer? How can they predict a chance encounter?


    Or if they trigger a "love" response of some sort, then why have a timer in the first place? Simply to randomize things? What stops a guy from sitting in a bar with hot women when his timer is about to run down?
