The minute I saw explosions & a pretty boy in the trailer, I just knew where this was going.
To robinsure and the other Brits complaining that they won't be able to see this; to them I saw, worry not chaps, you're not missing much.
Sorry, big time unmutual on something that in its original form is at least 10x better than explosions, pretty.boys, and whatever names they dig off the old scripts. [Rover, Orange Alert, 'Locals', 'The Tally Ho', need I go on?] #theprisoner
They had my brief interested until I saw the Hollywood explosions in the trailer.
Here we go again. Revive the old series on cable either on demand or a couple weeks before. Cast some pretty boy in the lead. Hollywood explosions. Cue curtain. Profit.
And they hand to wait until the original Number 6 died off before running it. Excellent. For someone.
Not me. Seriously unmutual to this thoroughly, and better flogged in '67 horse.
Actually, thanks AMC for putting 'The Prisoner' on Comcrap on demand for free. I called in sick yesterday and had an 'Unmutual Marathon'. I'd take 17 episodes of the original over 3 as done by Hollywood any day.
I thought the original held up pretty well, but I like the idea of telling the story as a mini-series (like John Adams, Band of Brothers). Even shows like Mad Men are great because they put the budget and talent into a shorter, better told story, instead of milking it out over 22 episodes.
I'm really not liking the look of this. The appearance of the woman in the trailer has me thinking they added a love interest. Bah.
I really don't like how having a single number 2 changed things. By making number 2 be a revolving door it makes it more of a man vs. the system but with number 2 being a single person it makes it more man vs. man which isn't nearly as interesting. #prisoner
@tetracycloide: Not only is it awesome, but the immensity of its kick-assitude cements the fact that it will never occur.
We can, however, expect Transformers III, where Bay will try to one-up himself, and actually complete filming prior to the script being written. #prisoner
@franklinshepard: First three episodes? The article says it's a three episode miniseries. So either: It is, but finishes in such a lame way you weren't even clear it was done with; it is, but that leads to a proper series later on, and you know this; or it isn't and the articles wrong. Which one? #prisoner
@Indigen: Actually, the article says that it's a three-night miniseries, which I'm sure it will be. However, I've seen the first three hours in the form of one-hour episodes on screeners from AMC. I apologize for being misleading. #prisoner
@franklinshepard: You' re not misleading. The idea that it's a miniseries is new to me and I don't like it, so I'm trying to establish how much of it there is. I thought there was a full series coming and now I find it's a blink and you miss it affaiir. I was hoping you were revealing it's not so. #prisoner

PS Once again the horrible abomination that is Gawkers bloated multiple-code language comment system is messing me around. #prisoner
@Indigen: Yeah, it's just six one-hour episodes. I speculated on the last Prisoner post that the reason behind that might be because it's a co-production with British TV network ITV, and all British series are six or eight episodes. But even without seeing the final three hours, I can say that it's structured in a way that wouldn't support a full, continuing series. I think you'll be happy with the end result. #prisoner
I was ready to scream 'DAMN YOU AMERICANS FOR RUINING MY TV PAST'!!! But then, I saw this trailer. And to be honest....you've done a bang up job by jove! Top quality cast, nicely polished set, awesome location and looking at it....a good script.
You did this to me when 'The Office' got an American facelift. But you proved me wrong then. Bugger!! If that is the case though...I see a patern forming. Why does the UK to US stuff usually work when its getting a well deserved overhaul. Yet US stuff like V has gone into production hell and only just crawled back out?? Am I missing something? #prisoner
Started re-watching the original lastnight, via on demand. It will be interesting to learn the details of the re-imagining of the series... but I'm prepared to be disappointed regardless of how much scenery Caviezel chews... #prisoner

Meredith, where are you seeing the baby Number Two in this trailer? I've watched it twice and couldn't make out anything that looked like a baby...
